Those vintage photos are awesome, thanks for sharing!  Looks like you had a run of great Xmas mornings.  It's cool you still have those pieces in your collection.  I still have a lot of my childhood collection but they are all pretty weathered and played with, they are favorites in my collection too.  Good luck tracking down the DT's and EV-9D9, keep us updated in the latest vintage acquisition thread if you grab them.

It's pretty quiet here, I thought I'd revive this thread.

I'm a vintage collector looking to grab some ships and playsets. I have a WTB list posted in the for sale thread. Please have a look and let me know if you have anything I need.

Thanks.

After a long break I'm gonna be getting back into the vintage game.  No matter how long I go without collecting it is always calling to me.  I was a big MOC collector but I think it's finally time that I put together a full run of loose, complete figures.  And no, I don't consider wind up R2 a part of that.

After reading cash-fan comments I realized that I really don't know anything about the windup R2.   A few years back when the 2008 crash happen I purchase a complete loose collection.  It included everything - it had all the Power of the Force figures, Vinyl Cape Jawa and all the right accessories.  But it also had the windup R2.   When I was researching the purchase - I think the wind up R2 was made by a company that started with a "T" and not Hasbro.   So after reading cash-fan's comment - I started wondering why would someone consider it one of the Vintage Figures?

Also jjreason - if you let know what 5 figures you are missing - I will take a picture of the 5 figures and change my Avatar on Snowtroopers to that.  And I'll add a comment -
"DC hero's get the job done" . :P

Yak Face, R2 Saber, Luke Stormtrooper, Warok & Romba.  :(

By the way, I'm reading both the Superman & Batman titles following DC's Rebirth, and they're all very entertaining. Just to show how much I'm willing to grow as a human.  :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

Canadian Jedi, yeah, the wind up R2 was made my Takara - not Kenner.  Allegedly it was George Lucas's favorite toy.

I don't consider it a part of the vintage line of 3 3/4 figures because 1) it wasn't made by Kenner and 2) 10 years ago or so from what I can remember it's value was around $1000 (putting it out of range for me).  I don't know if my memory is accurate or not but looking them up recently I saw decent ones going between $300-$600 CDN.  But just to clarify, I consider it vintage, just not a part of the vintage line.

MOC one's still go for several thousands though.

Many years ago I had the opprotunity to buy one for $50 but it looked like it had many a baths over the years because all of the colors were gone and the wind up part had rust on it.  I passed.

It was released by Kenner Canada (Irwin Toy) though:

That's pretty awesome, I do remember having one but as above the decal was non-existent & most of the chrome worn off. I think we might have gotten it second hand. We also had many other, cheaper, wind up walking "droids" of similar size, though they had nothing to do with SW.
