Star Wars Black Series (3.75" Figure Line)

I will probably pick up the core OT characters but that's about it. I hope the final products look a lot better than those samples they showed.

Agree. That X-Wing Luke does not look top notch with the helmet on at all... dont like the looks of Vader either.

Vader? I haven't seen a Vader yet. Only Luke, R2, Sandtrooper, and Maul. And I thought the OT guys looked great. Luke might be a little hard to tell from the photos, but the sandtrooper in particular looked great.

The Vader is for the Black series 3 3/4" line,  I think where the confusion is that people were initially discussing the 6" Black Series line at the start of this thread.

The link that Brent is referring to shows pics of both the 3 3/4" Vader and the 12" Vader.  So it could be either one.

I think that putting the number on the front of the card beside the name takes away from the classiness of the look.  It would have looked so much cleaner and better saying just "Darth Vader" rather than "#06 Darth Vader".  For me it stands out as an eyesore. I understand that they promote a "collect'em all" moto, but it should be a little more subtle, keep the numbers on the back and leave the name by itself.

Okay, based on the original post, I figured this discussion was about the 6" line. So just the one wave has been revealed so far. No Vader yet.

As for the 3 3/4 black series, so far the line is pretty boring. I plan on picking up OT figures that are different enough to be worth picking up. So far not much.

As for the packaging, yeah they were going for the simple, elegant look, but the more I see it, the more I think it's the simple boring look to me.

I agree. They should keep the number on the back of the card at least. :)`

I want to see the 6 inch in person before deciding ...but these also look just like a blow up of the 3 3/4" molds??

Those are the 3.75 series figures from the first wave.  They are NOT the six inch figures.  Hasbro just decided to make things confusing by calling both series "The Black Series" :confused0024:

These 3 3/4 are new, or at least partially new. In some cases not new enough for me. I'm picking and choosing which to get. It's just the vintage line continuing on with new packaging, so like the vintage line, some will be completely new sculpts, some kit bashes, some re-releases. Perhaps someone else with a more discerning eye can tell you what is new about each one.

As for the 6 inch they are completely brand new sculpts, not blow ups of existing molds.

Yep some interesting releases coming down the pike if that's a valid list.

Not much I'm excited about in that list. Funny how jedi temple archives states "You're going to FREAK OUT folks!" Really?
I suppose plagueis is exciting for some. Personally I always thought his species had a comical look and I can't really take the character seriously as a sith when looking at images of him. The book was pretty good (perhaps a bit drawn out) but thankfully I didn't have to visualize him as a Muun while I read. :)

Ones I'm interested in:
Vizam (looked him up, didn't we get him already?! He's OT so will be a must if he's new)
Merumeru (I love Wookiees so the OT only rule (but not my wookiee) potentially gets bent here)
Wedge Antilles (Snowspeeder Outfit) didn't think we'd see this, very cool. :)
Snowtrooper (maybe if I can get a couple on sale. already have a few)
Toryn Farr (cool)

So five figures in the next couple waves. None of them really make me freak out though. My wallet is loving this Black series. :)

I think you're right about his character being released previously.  I'm pretty sure his character was included in the "Jabba's Skiff Guards" multi-pack from the POTF2 series.  This version will probably have an improved sculpt and articulation.
