Star Wars X-Wing Miniature Game

I've been following this for awhile but it only just recently occurred to me to post about it here.

Fantasy Flight Games is releasing a starship miniature game. Looks interesting but pricey (about $15 for one miniature and $30 each for the Millenium Falcon and Slave 1).

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else played this game? I picked it up a while ago but only played a couple of games recently. Had fun moving my X-Wings all over the board and knocking out Tie Fighters.

I've looked at that game a bit, but was actually more interested in the "living card game" that company had announced at the same time. It ended up getting delayed due to them overhauling the game dynamics, and then I kinda lost track of it and missed that it had been released last December. Since the Core Set was released, they've already come out with a full 6-set booster cycle plus an expansion pack, with another expansion set to be released soon and the 2nd booster cycle beginning:

I've never played one of these "living card games", only a traditional CCG like Magic, etc. I like the publishing model they use for this - you can easily budget for a set price point every month or so, and the randomness of blind packs is eliminated. Has anyone played the Star Wars one? I'm thinking of picking it up, but it'd have to be easy and interesting enough for my wife, family, etc to play it with.

I own and play quite frequently both of these games and had a chance to play both at GenCon but never did much with it down there, lol. I think both games are very cool and if anyone lives near Halifax, we play regularly at a local Game shop.
