2-packs, X-wing, Tie Fighter?
« on: September 07, 2015, 11:13:13 AM »

I'm curious, has anyone seen the Force Awakens X-Wing, Tie Fighter or 5POA 2-packs at retail in Canada yet?
Not sure if I've missed out so far, or if they haven't been released yet.

Nothing on this end, but only 1 TRU and 3 Walmarts explored so far. I'm sure they'll be coming as the shelves are marked, same as the 3.75" SA Black Series figures. Give it a week or two.

I don't think they are out yet in Canada....the tie fighter and x-wing are listed on toysrus.ca as a pre-order....and the recent posting of the TRU exclusive Desert Damage Tie Fighter has recently been listed for pre-order.

I picked up the regular Tie Fighter in the US this past Saturday....and I have to say, i'm liking it!  The Wings are larger than the POT2 version and the wingspan is not as wide making it more to scale...it also has a rear window for the 2nd pilot.  This is basically...and almost all new design.  2 firing torpedoes. The only issue is the cockpit...it does fit 2 figures but they can only seat 'head to toe' side-by-side, and not back-to-back.  The pilots sit with their legs extended out straight. There is no ejection chair or the same sort of tooling in the cockpit as the Vintage Collection Tie Fighter or the Legacy Collection Large-Wing Tie Fighter. You can also eject the wings like the previous versions....the wing ejection buttons are no longer on top on either side of the cockpit....they are now on the bottom on either side of the cockpit.

These have arrived at Hasbro's distribution centre in Longueuil last week (Monday or Tuesday), so it would have been impossible for the stores to get them in time for Force Friday. Expect these to be coming very soon to your retailers, when they'd want to replenish their stocks, alongside other goodies... :)

I'll be passing on both the X-Wing and Tie Fighter for the time being. At this price point, it's something I can't afford unless these are with the same quality standard and shapes we've been getting with TVC line. These two vehicles are not to the standard I'm expecting for 3-3/4" figures.

There are pegs set aside for them at the $11.92 price point, so the answer is yes - it's just a matter of when, and whether or not they're the new exclusive figures or some older black series 3.75" Hasbro needs to clear out. I'm hoping for both.

Good to hear.  At least there is still hope.  :)

I am not buying these 5 POA figures.

Not gonna buy the 6" either not unless Hasbro is making a 6" scale Falcon.  (I am not giving in for a Tie Fighter.)

Found the regular non-exclusive 3.75" Tie Fighter at a TRU. Scanned as a Class II Deluxe for the expected 49.99.

A Tie Fighter with small wings = big pass for me, especially for $50 + Taxes.

I won't buy any Hasbro vehicle unless they start making again larger ones such as BAT-AT, BSlave 1, TLC AT-ST, BMF or Saga X-Wing ... and I'd be happily surprise if they do some for Ep. 7-9 although I have very little hope to see this happen.

I'm waiting to see their 3.75 SA offering. For now, my cash is printed with Hot Toys dollar signs  :artoo:

I finally saw the Tie Fighter at TRU.  They had two but both had the tape cut and another piece on top.  I wonder if this was another case of the factory not putting French instructions inside the box and they had to open them all and put it in.  When G.I.Joe Retailation vehicles came out, they were all opened and retaped as well.

Also say Finn and his speeder.  When I picked it up, it was so light that it felt like an empty box.

Oh, that's interesting ... mine was like this too. But, the TIE pilot insert was backwards in the box. I actually made the TRU staff open it up for me to make sure all the pieces were in there. Probably whomever opened my box put the little guy back in backwards.

Yeah, I did that when buying G.I.Joe Retaliation stuff as well.  Asked to open it in front of them in case something was missing.

Saw Poe's black X-Wing at a TRU - 59.99.

Interestingly, Poe's X-Wing doesn't seem to be on the TRU Canada site anymore.
