TFA Armour Up Figures
« on: September 08, 2015, 10:59:29 PM »

Saw some today and have to say they are wishy washy…had seen a couple but every Poe I find looks wonky in the eyes. And definitely NOT worth the price (it's a regular 5 POA figure with a little armour jacket…that evidently costs $5).

Yeah.  Mine may be going back.  5 bucks for a helmet is too much.

How is it that you are paying an extra $5.00 for these armour up figures.  You get a build weapon piece with the basic figures, a piece of armour with the armour up.  The plastic pieces in both cases are very similar in size?  So what is the extra $5.00 for?  The larger box? :sign0065:

Yeah, I think so. The armour probably does contain a bit more plastic but is it $5 more? Was the tooling that much more difficult? Perhaps. Are these in any way interesting? Not really, to me anyway, especially if they have NOTHING to do with costumes worn in the film. Then its just a gimmick. But…they do seem to be selling out so far. Might peg warm after all the collectors get their "fix". I was tempted for Poe because he's helmetless but not at that price and not with the terrible head sculpt/paint apps…as well as the rumoured SA version to come!

I think it's just another case where the retailer has certain pricepoints that they need Hasbro to meet and Hasbro comes up with something quick and dirty to meet it.

It probably would've been hard for them to come up with yet another thing to tool up that wouldn't be economically risky for them while still having kid appeal hence the somewhat lacklustre $5 worth of plastic...
