Droids toyline
« on: September 20, 2015, 04:36:52 PM »

Star Wars.com has a brief look at the vintage Droids line here:

http://www.starwars.com/news/the-vintage-vault-exploring-kenners-droids-and-ewoks-toys

Even though I watched both cartoons as a kid I never even knew these existed until I was an adult. Did these even come to Canada?  I never saw them at Woolworths or in the Consumers Distributing catalogue...

I don't recall knowing about these until I got back into the hobby in 1995. A store opened up at Westmount Mall in London & the guys had a bunch of Droids & Ewoks figures loose & in the package as well as POTF stuff I didn't even know existed as a kid. That was the result of GI Joe hitting as hard as it did in 1983 and completely killing my interest in SW toys.

Yes Droids figures were available in Canada.  Here is a link for a little bit more info,

I was lucky enough to pick up most of them loose at The Silver Snail in Toronto several years back.  Then I added reproductions of all of the unproduced figures from ebay.  Here they all are in my display case.  Click on the pictures to enlarge them a bit.

Wow!!!   :D Very nice!!! I'm almost done collecting loose vintage figures from the core line (only 5 remaining POTF + the Blue Snaggeltooth eventually), but will certainly venture into the Ewoks and Droids lines in the close future.

Your collection is amazing!  :)`
