FIREFLY - BEST TV SHOW EVER
« on: January 25, 2016, 12:05:26 PM »

FIREFLY - is amazing.  Just finished watching all 14 episodes and the movie.  I am now a big Fan.

For those of you who have never seen the TV show - think of it as the Adventures of Han Solo and his amazing Crew.

After watching it I can understand why it developed a strong fan base.    This is one of those shows that should of been given a better chance to develop it's fan base.

If you have not seen it - I would highly recommend it.

I will second that emotion!  Loved it right from the start.

I'm also a Firefly fan - my Brother-in-law introduced me to it about 5 years ago.  Good show.

Yeah, Firefly actually made me a Joss Whedon fan. I'm a bit over him now but going from Firefly to Buffy to Angel was a pretty fun time back before shows like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead!

I knew at least 2 people who saw Serenity without knowing a thing about Firefly and they actually really liked it. I think that says something overall about the concept, direction and acting if you can at least get people to see a spin-off and not be scratching their heads!

I know I was pretty sad when I figured out it had been cancelled. Think I'm going to do a marathon viewing soon, this discussion is giving me the urge to revisit our shiny gang!

It truly is "The Untold Tales of Han Solo". I loved it too, every minute. The movie Serenity is a condensed version of what they hoped to accomplish during season 2. For more, there are a few comic books that equate to what could have been a season 3 - these I have not read but have heard they're pretty faithful.

That one damned scene in the movie though - I don't remember coming so close to yelling out a character's name during a movie as I did right there.  :(

I bought the three Serenity comics a few years ago.  They fill in the story gap between the TV series and the final movie.  Quite accurate characters and interesting story.  Here is a picture of the covers.
