3 3/4 Fan's Choice
« on: November 14, 2016, 08:43:39 AM »

If I'm remembering right, I think there was a report out of one of the more recent conventions that Hasbro would have a fan's choice poll for the 3 3/4 line in 2017. I'm guessing that the winner would be made for the basic 5poa line, rather than Wal-Mart exclusive. Just for the sake of discussion, I'm wondering who people would like to see win? Personally I would like an obscure character from the old Ewoks or Droids TV series that would have no chance otherwise, but I would also be happy to support a cause for a PT or OT character. There has been nothing new in the 5poa line from the first six films for a long time, and hardly anything at all from Episodes I and II.

I am kind of partial to Jabba's sail barge characters or Cantina patrons. Tonnika Sisters? They were fair game for the 6" scale.

Jabba's Palace Guards all the way. There are so many missing it's a shame for Hasbro to even consider giving us Unkar's Thug or a blue protocol droid for TFA, while we're still missing important Jabba's minions.

The Tonnika Sisters will never be. People well informed on the matter know for quite some time that this is a legal impossibility. One of the sister has died before signing Lucasfilm's release giving them the right to do whatever they want with the character she portrayed in the movie. So legally this is a dead-end that will never open its way for an action figure. Better just forget about it and customize yourself your own figures...

I literally don't have an answer for this. My wish came true when the fans were heard & the Yarna figure finally got made so there really isn't much left for me to want, let alone need. What we'll wind up getting is super clone 48 with red & black insignias from some obscure source anyhow. People literally cannot be trusted with voting these days.   :speechless-smiley-004:

Stupid idea, but if only one of the Tonnika sisters didn't sign the release, couldn't they just make a "left Tonnika sister" figure?  Since their twins, people would then just buy two of the same character and voila...

The question got asked more than once, and during times when Hasbro really listened and took the time to explain (that's years ago), and if I remember correctly they said they would want to release both or none at all.

And the thing is, they're not twins. In fact, they do not look alike at all. One is taller, their faces and traits are different...

I don't remember exactly, but I'm betting it went something like this:
Interviewer: "Thanks for the 6" Fan's Poll; will Hasbro be doing one for the 3.75" fans?"
Hasbro: "That's a great idea! We'll definitely talk about it and see how it can fit into our plans."
AND THEN NOTHING HAPPENS.

I am wondering why the Tonnika sisters were fair game for the 6" line and not a 3.75" line. At this point I don't think these characters will ever be made into toys.
I also noticed that when it comes time to vote for these fan figures people vote for figures that are already announced that they are coming from Hasbro.

Dead on! I knew it! Derek, you're working for Hasbro! Even better: I think you just revealed yourself as the Secret Hasbro Public Relations Specialist!!! :) :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

They will never ever happen. It's a certainty. Forget about it. Sadly...  :'(

I would like to see more EU characters.  Maybe Anakin Solo or Ben Skywalker. Alas, now that these characters are relegated to "legends", I doubt I will ever see them.

I stand corrected.  It's been a while since I've watch A New Hope.  I know what I'm doing tonight!!

I agree, sadly I think getting older EU figures is also something we will never see. Except for Darth Revan of course. I am a bit surprised Hasbro didn't try to fix the vote so this character wouldn't win.

As most people here are now aware, the 3 3/4 fan's choice poll is now a reality and the vintage collection is coming back as well. Anyone want to share who they're voting for? I probably won't nominate anyone myself since I don't collect the super articulated line anymore, but it would be fun to hear who others are going for!

I am going to vote for one of the figures from the original line that hasn't been updated yet.

Will also stick with most likely Original Trilogy winner.

Judging by responses on other sites, there's a lot of ''noise'' for EU and Clone Wars characters, which I am less fond of.

My personal favorites would be
- Shasa Tiel (Jabba Ishi Tib)
- Taym Dren-Garen (Skiff who shot Luke)
- Admiral Piett
(Assuming Tonnika's are still a no go)
