Purchasing figures from online stores
« on: January 27, 2017, 04:19:35 PM »

What are some good online stores, that have a good selection of older to newer figures that everyone uses. I am trying to fill some holes in my collection from 2008-2012.

I can't really comment on selection, but I really like https://cosmictoys.ca/

I've bought lots of stuff them them and it's fairly priced, reasonable shipping and in Canada.

I am also interested in finding some good online stores, especially ones in Canada. I'm hoping to find somewhere that might be selling some of the newer Rogue One two packs that still haven't shown up at retail here.

I've also bought from cosmic, he's a great guy.

@jmac, for most of TFA/Rogue One stuff, amazon.ca is usually pretty decent (the 2 packs are there at retail price)

Maybe a new thread can go in the Provincials (so it's Snowtrooper member friendly) with links and reviews of Canadian online retailers.

That way, members can have a kind of easily accessible go-to guide.

If people are interested, I can even start putting one together.

I could put it in the Ontario forum and then, if the mods want, they can make it its own thing.

I like the idea - a "reputable e-tailers" thread of sorts would be a useful tool. If Koda has any issues regarding them getting free promotion he will let me know & I can try to deal with it at that time.

Hey JJ,

I've compiled a list of sorts; separated into Sponser(s), Mainline Retailers, Independent/Regional Retailers, Auctions Sites, and Local.  Website address and (where applicable) a physical address is included.

Where would you like it posted?

Also, what else would people like listed?  For example, should ratings for prices, shipping, etc. be added?

Maybe add quotes from people based on their experience with that store?

Thanks for your hard work. I like the idea of posting it in the Ontario locals since that seems to be where the main activity is (yes, I do peruse finds in other Provincials from time to time, you can take the boy out of BC etc etc etc, but Ontario is by far the busiest for this forum).

I think having it run as a thread with ongoing comments from the users - both good & bad - will help people decide if they want to try out one of the named parties. All of the topics you have mentioned would be of interest to anyone considering a first order - feel free to post it in any organized manner you like! Thanks again!  :u:

Links posted.

I'll update it as we go along with notes, experiences, etc.

Just a thought, but as we are discussing this as a way of people to rate online retailers and for others to see what experiences others have had, maybe we put it in the feedback forum? Maybe have a separate section of the forum just for online retailers where people can give feedback.

As part of it, maybe each retailer has its own thread, and rather than a regular thread, it is a poll so that you can give an overall rating to the e-tailer when you post your feedback, as well?

Just some ideas.

The points have merit - I think Bespin's concern was announcing the new arrivals in the public forum for the scalpers, so we tucked it away in a more secluded area.

I might just create an online retailers section within the provincials or something where each place can have its own thread.

EDITED: Once I started managing the boards, Brianakarobin's idea suited me best. I've added a whole new feedback area and put the newly created online shopping post in there.

I also added an online shopping area in the Provincial forums, in hopes that we can post a notifier in the open area, with more details & links in that spot, away from the scalpers.

Let me know what you think.

Hopefully the new area will show us all a few new places to browse!
