As reported on JTA website , the Black Series 6" 40th Anniversary Darth Vader with Background diorama was found in Canada at a TRU ( not sure where in Canada)....... And get this.. It was priced at $75.00 LOL

God only knows what Canadian SCALPERS will first price this at. Ebay , Amazon ...... $100 ? $125 ? $150 ? Or More..... What's your guess Snowtroopers?

It was pulled from shelves tonight. Not for sale until April 1st.....$75 is crazy and that line is all repacks

From the pictures I have seen, it looks like the base of the display is plastic, so it should be a little more substantial that the original cardboard versions. Still, take away the $30 you are paying for the Vader figure, that leaves $45 for the display which is way too high.
I agree (and hope) that it will end up on clearance. No one is going to pay those prices. Even the 3.75 version that came out a few years ago wound up at $9.99 eventually.

Unfortunately, this is TRU's MO. TRU takes the exchange rate and adds another hefty markup on everything, so it's not surprising. It is a bit higher than I would have thought though. Walmart will probably carry it at slightly cheaper. But TRU will have their usual 25% or 30% off sales, bringing it down closer to regular price. If you knock 30% off $74.99 it comes down to $52.49. The current exchange rate puts the US retail price ($39.99US) at $53.31Can. Their sale price is in line with the US regular price. I want one, so as with most overpriced things, I will buy it when I see it to ensure I get one (and without beat up packaging), and then hold my receipt until I can get it adjusted. It's a pain in the rear, but on certain things it's worth the hassle.

I agree. In the low $50+ range it is more acceptable. That means $30 for Vader and another $23 to $25 for the display unit.

I actually still think it is overpriced at $50+.
I rarely pay full $30 for a 6 inch figure since I don't think they're really worth it. So to me, the figure is only worth about $23 (usual sale price). So even at a 30% discount this Vader set makes the display valued at $30. Absurd.

I think it should be priced at $40Can regular and then on sale for about $30. The figure should be $25 Can and an extra $5 for the plastic and cardboard display. But the only way to get that price is to hold out for clearance.

I agree with you Cujo, and I too buy to secure the items I want but, then have to wait for a sale before I can open anything. (I'm try to open most things, but not all)
