Rogue One Blu Ray Release
« on: April 04, 2017, 09:18:29 AM »

A couple of questions:
Who's got the best price out there today for the movie disc release?
Does the Best Buy steelbook have extra content over others?

The Target release in the US comes with a bonus disc.  I'm hoping to head down next weekend and pick up a copy.

Wasn't all the "bonus disc" content from TFA uploaded to SW.com or youtube pretty much the moment it came out? Not saying it's not worth the drive, more just "make sure" it's worth the drive!

From Target's website, the exclusive bonus content is just these 2 things:

Inside the Creature Shop - Discover what it takes to bring Rogue One’s innovative aliens to life, with Neal Scanlan, Creative Supervisor of Creature & Droid FX.

Digital Storytelling - Get an up-close look at how cutting-edge technology from ILM helped Director Gareth Edwards realize his creative vision in Rogue One.

Not sure it's worth the extra effort, though the packaging idea is kinda neat, with the interchangeable covers.

lol, I'm not going just for that.  It's more of a "if I'm going, I might as well grab one while I'm there" kind of thing.

the extras suck now, they're too standard/come off the same. watch it once and its done. nothing will ever be as good as ''Empire of Dreams'' ive watched that over and over and i never get tired of it and at least the old dvd extras had something more to bite into.

they will do something better on the 7th release or whatever it is they are up to. geeze

I think the extras were always better when George was still at the reins. Those were his films,  his art,  and he made sure there was budget to document and tell the story of the filmmaking process properly.

Reading about TRU and the AT-ACT driver reminded me how impressed I was with the new R1 troopers.

Seeing pics and toys before the film (stayed away from trailers), they looked like they could have been from TFA or something, but they fit fairly seamlessly in the actual movie.
