I think it would be great they could tell stories that ran along with the originals a kind of behind the scenes like the bothan spies or a day in the life of Jabba. Just like they did in those " tales of " books.

Think bigger.Wouldn't it be sweer if they followed the storylines based around the more sucessful novels.
I would love to see them do the "Heir to the Empire" series. It would be perfect.Ford,Fisher and Hamill are old enough that they would fit in to the movies.Or what about other more recent novels.Watching Solo's kids in action would be interesting.

I'd like to see some of the novels done into tv/movies. i haven't read any yet but from what I have thumbed through it would be great to see what happened after the battle of Endor.

I probably would dig it if it was a cartoon.  Live action might be kind of lame, too Star Trekish, although that Star Trek cartoon was cool.

interesting rumor... it came up in Theforce.net a while back...in case you didn't see it.

ILM NDAs for Episodes 7,8 and 9
Tue, Aug 17, 04 02:22:05 AM EDT

A little Jedi stopped by the inbox today with some information fans have to pray is actually happening. Rumors at best folks ... ones we love, but we have to remind you: rumors!

You didn't hear this from me, but you might be curious as to why everyone at ILM just signed NDA's saying that they will not discuss Star Wars EP7, 8, or 9. Since they're not being made, why the NDA's? Of course, since when has the flannel one been consistent?

Good point. Please, please be true ...

Happy New year all.  first time reading this topic, and I think that this could be a great idea.  But it has to be done right.  I am  a huge trekkie, and even though it has been a bust over the past 10 yrs or so, they have done some great episodes.
Lucas, if he is doing it, has to make sure he has the right people writing for the show.   that means he has to take a step back, and that he isn't going to have the budget like he does for the movies.  what I would like to see is start out with the Heir to the Empire series.  Other than Mark Hamill, I don't think you'd see any others return to the series.  (harrison ford doesn't have the time to do another indy movie, how's he gonna do a tv show.)   I'd say, do a complete recast with the major exceptions, anthony daniels, kenny bakor, and peter mayhew.
Remember, Lucas did have a failure with his star wars franchise back in '79 i believe it was.  Lets hope he does the right thing, and I will be happy if there is nothing else other than collecting......

I also herd the tv show was going to be about Boba Fett.  I herd it will be covering the stroys from ep2 tell we see him in empire.

I didn't really here the Ford thing though.  What I herd is that there just having problems with the story but that Ford wants to do it and that they've cast him and 4 other mager acters for it.

I'm also herd there will be a new cartoon coming out after ep3 as well.

A TV show may be good, or if they dont look out, could kill a lot of interest in the SW line.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   If they keep jumping around, like a once a month 2hr show about a section of troopers on the rim, or a bounty hunter segment, some thing like that, they could keep each show new, and interest will stay high. I hate to say this but they should try to keep it more adult, say 20 to 30's age group may keep it around.

What? Ford wants to be in the tv show? But he's so old.

no ford wants to do indy the final one in his books.  But it would be cool if he does a cameo or something.

Hello all, ran into Koda on weekend and was 'recruited'. Anyhow I've always thought that a good place to start with TV would be right after RoTJ as Hamill has expressed some interest and it would be great to be introduced to new characters and see the rebuilding of the Jedi order.
