Facing intense pressure from discount retailers like Walmart and Target, TRU may drop their toy unit. A very interesting finance article. Unfortunately, collecting SW could eventually become a specialist hobby, especially after Episode III is over and there is no further engine to power general consumer interest.

Hopefully TRU will remain in one form or the other. Maybe they will sell that portion of the business, and someone will re energize it.  Lately I have found that TRU is the only ones carrying anything more then Just Basic Figures retail wise. If they go, it could be more costly to collect larger items in the future.

  I just read it.Doesn't look good for TRU.  Well at least if they do their 150 Million markdown ,,,then maybe we will see some great deals on stuff.

i heard bout it too, this one better stayu because the next one is too far away and walmart and zellers r always sold out before i make it there

I was just thinking about this today. Maybe the stores will closed but they will leave it open online? Maybe thats why Canadian TRU is online now?
