My son bought the Anakin/Vader 2 wks ago, and he loves it. It comes with a clear tube for the blade instead of the colored ones like the rest.  their is a button to change from red to blue.  you can't see it too well in the daylight, but come dusk, we are outside, him with his anakin/vader blade, and me with Qui-Gon blade and we have our ightsaber battles in the front yard.  it looks real kewl as he changes from red to blue and back.  The other great thing with it is the light saber uses 3 AA batteries instead of the 2 C batteries of the old kind.  Try it out and enjoy

the only thing i HATE is that, the ep 1 sabers where nice and hard...so you can have a real battle...but thease now ones are so bendy that if you have a fight, they will break....................it's not as fun pretending you are fighting  ::)

The bulb in the EP1 lightsabers was the exact same bulb as a 3 C cell maglight. Home Depot should have the replacement bulbs.

Hope that helps. :-*

How is the motion detection and sound on the EIII Dooku saber?  Is the motion detection fairly solid, is it more gimicky?

I'd say fairly solid.
Mine you the blade feels a bit funny and doesn't stand up to play Dueling very well at all.
Probably my favorite Ep3 Saber so far
