Star Wars vs. Star Trek
« on: October 07, 2003, 06:56:44 PM »

Can anyone settle a discussion I had with some friends. They are convinced that a battle between the Star Wars and Star Trek Universes would result in the Star Trek team victorious.

Couldn't the Death Star just blow up every major planet?

Is there anything more manoeverable than the Millenium Falcon?

Lt. Commander Data vs. C-3PO?

Other pros and cons?

Your thoughts please!

A quick Darth Vader force choke takes down all ST characters except Data.  I think Vader's lightsaber would take care of that.

End of story.

There would be no contest, the Star Wars characters could whip the tar out of the Star Trek guys. The jedi's would deflect the laser fire from the trekkies and the ewoks would follow through and hammer them over the head with stones. R2 would stick his little adaptor in to Data's rear port opening and fry him from the inside. And while all this is going on the Tusken Raiders and the Jawas would have salvaged all they could from the Enterprise. No contest.

Ah, yes.  I think this argument is older than the Internet.

I think that the thinking goes something like this:
All SW weapons are laser-based weapons.
All ST shields are totally impervious to laser fire
(only vulnerable to phaser fire or photon torpedoes)
Therefore, the mighty Death Star laser is easily repelled by the Enterprise's shields, and since they don't seem to have phaser or photon torpedo technology in the SW universe, Capt. Kirk/Picard/Janeway/Whoever can safely take all day dismantling anything the Empire/Rebellion/Republic can throw at it.

Of course, this does not take the Force into account, and I don't know what SW pRoton (with an R) torpedoes are supposed to be capable of.

Luckily, SW has a secret weapon-- Jar Jar Binks is easily more annoying than Wesley Crusher.  His mere presence on the battlefield would be enough to draw all of the Federation's destructive fire long enough for Slave Leia to distract Capt. Kirk, blast him, and commandeer the Enterprise, saving the day.

Um, thanks Snowtroopers. But seriously though, these guys were saying Phasers (ST) were more powerful than the laser cannons on any SW vehicle.

Also, does SW have an answer to Star Trek's transporter or HoloDeck technology?

Does Star Trek have an answer to the X-Wing?

you're not supposed to know that much about star trek,

TRADER.... :P
hey maybe we can send jarjar to some star trek world, to kill all the trekkies, then the last one can kill jarjar and we'll be done with both.
what pisses me off more with star trek is it is on almost every hour of the day. why don't they make a star trek channel???

I think that if there was a war between the Star Trek universe and the Star Wars Universe, it would result in a massive explosion that would wipe out both sides....  leaving nothing for nerds on planet earth to debate about.

Well if we must, the Enterprise E is very manouverable as well as Voyager. The First and Second Death Stars alone would destroy all planets in either world. The Jedi Starfighter as well as Jango/Boba Fett's Slave 1 are both equally as nimble as any federation ship. The Borg would try to assimilate Republic, Empire,Federation, Klingon,
Romulan, etc. And the Jedi would win in the end by using Jedi Mind Tricks on the Borg to control all. Any questions?

Okay, first of all, u4ea, is it a bad thing that he's a 'TRADER'?  I love to trade.  ::)

Now, if he were a TRAITOR, then he should be cast from this board.  ;D

Perhaps ST could win - they just put all SW characters to sleep with their boring techno-talk, and pick everyone off at will. :-\

Seriously, it's no contest.  Like I said befoe, they have nothing to repel the Force.
