Anyone else have problems getting him to stand up (without his cloak)?  I put his lightsaber in his hand and tried many times to stand him but he keeps falling backward. Only if I bend him forward awkwardly does he sort of balance himself and even then, it's easy to topple him with a slight gust of air.

I've got his foot bent at the ankle as far forward as it will go but it doesn't help. And examining his feet suggests that the bottom of his foot seems curved upward towards the rear (his heels don't seem to reach low enough) so that he'll always be falling back.

Quite frustrating! I'm going to return him -- just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else and warn others if it has.

i didn't have that problem.  i just fidget with the knees and ankles until he stands.  and sometimes the way the arm is positioned may throw it off balance too.  try that.

Just an update: my best guess is I think his legs and feet got pushed together too much in the packaging. If I force his legs farther apart, the heels now touch the ground, although it doesn't improve things much. Played around with the knees and ankles for quite a while but while this works for other SA figures in the past, it ain't working here. Damn it.

I'll see if I can trade him for another Obi and see if this is only a problem with this particular one. The fact that no one here or on GHunter has reported a similar situation makes me hopeful -- this is really a figure I want to keep.

odd, but i guess that happens.  when i took mine out of the package, the right arm was spun around completely backwards, but the hand was not.  it took me a litle while to figure out why it looked funny, but obviously it was an easy fix. :r2d2:

I do have trouble standing him up w/o the cloak...However, I'm just putting him in his Jedi Starfighter and it's a very tight fight with the cloak on...So the cloak's going into storage.

Mine hasn't fallen yet, and he's cloakless with full saber. With any luck your next one will be fine.

I really, really like the face sculpt - it's near perfect. The articulation is reminiscent of the VOTC line. The cloak (which I did NOT like when I saw pics of it on the net at first) is much better than I had feared. He's an excellent figure.

And Hasbro  - GREAT job giving us a one piece saber as well as a hilt...... THAT's the way to do it. Those cruddy 2 pc sabers HAD to go the way of the Dodo bird.

My only minor gripe is that his legs are too skinny - but I can easily overlook it. 8/10, and likely the best "human" figure of the first 56.

Shandy

Hey Shandy, sorry I didn't realize anyone would actually want this "defective" figure. I returned it to the store during my lunch break the other day. Haven't decided to pick up a replacement yet but if the next one turns out to have the same problem I'll be sure to let you know first :-)

@jjreason: Love the face sculpt also. Didn't expect the ball-jointed upper chest which I thought was just icing on the cake (well, if mine had been able to stand it would've been icing on the cake that is)
