I put in an order for 4-lom a couple months ago. Still haven't received it. I've gotten two emails in the meantime telling me I can cancel my order at any time but they are still trying to fulfill it.

At this point I'm not holding my breath on this one. But it doesn't hurt to put an order in.

So here is something I'm trying out for the deluxe Figures.

Speeder Bike with Biker Scout Front and Right
Speeder Bike with Biker Scout Back and Left

The deluxe boxes are too big for me to print on a single sheet (cheaply) - so I did them on two.

PS - for those of you who have a Luke with Wampa.  Look at the back.  Worst. Back. Any Product. Ever.

Very nice. Agreed on the wampa set. Pretty bad. It would look so much better in vintage style. ☺

Well twice in the last three days I've submitted orders for Veers to pick up in store. Both of which have been cancelled when they went to fulfill the orders.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me. They really need to work on their inventory tracking system. Very frustrating.

I've been checking regularly since Darth Derek (thanks for the link, btw) posted the link and have yet to see it available. Hoping it becomes available before the sale ends. Even if it's not much of a sale it would be great to get him at that price.

Has Veers actually been available to order?

Now that season 4 is out on blu-ray I got the urge to finally get through season 3. Almost finished going through season 3 and I'm really enjoying it.

Then I just discovered that Disneyxd is on free preview on Rogers right now. They show rebels about 5 times a day so I set it to record every episode for the past two weeks. Finally sorted through and figured out they're running season 4 right now. Series finale airs Friday night.

Looks like they actually air 2 episodes a day between 8:30 and 9:30pm 7 days a week. Then repeat it various times a day.

So I will have all of season 4 on my PVR waiting for me when I finish season 3 on blu-ray. ☺

Now I can wait for the price to go down on season 4 before I buy it.

Perfectly illustrates how far off the mark Hasbro is with their black series design. What they seem to think is classy and sophisticated is actually bland and nondescript. Your design pops! Beautiful!

Great collection, by the way.

One suggestion for the backs. Which you may not like because it would cause inconsistency. What about a light blue backdrop instead of yellow for the ESB figures listed on the back? I personally always liked the light blue better than the yellow, but that's personal preference. Either way, they look fantastico!!

Dang. Simply amazing.
Yes! Beautiful! Love the Luke in particular. Just because, well, OT. :) Great work!

My wolffe arrived yesterday. Beautiful figure. No additional customs so worked out to less than buying a black figure at regular retail in Canada.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Looking specifically at the TVC collector line - the prince point on the original clam shelled votc figures, if I'm not mistaken, was around $15 per 3.75" figure. Yes, you got the protective clamshell package protector - but that was pre-Disney pricing - and it compares almost dollar for dollar what we're paying today for the better class of 3.75" figure. I decided I was ok with it then, and I'm still ok with it now, provided the figure (or package) is something I really like & really want.
Yes, the VOTC came out at $15 a piece, but even at the time these were astronomically over-priced. I believe we were paying $10 per figure for the regular line, which was also not 5POA. So paying an extra $5 for a clamshell and vintage packaging was not justifiable. But I bit the bullet since I saw it as a short series and I realllllly liked them. This is also why I think the subsequent vintage line that ran for a couple years then dropped the clamshells and dropped in price. I think Hasbro suspected people wouldnít pay quite so much on a long term basis. At least not yet. Even back then they tried to take advantage of collectors when they could. And now they continue to push that envelope. I draw the line by primarily sticking to OT. The vast majority of my non-OT purchases are on deep discount. And even then I donít buy it just because itís on clearance. And my OT purchases are usually bought on sale, unless items are difficult to obtain. The sale items help off-set what I believe are too-high regular prices. So occasional regular prices or the rare inflated price is acceptable for me.
This hover tank & the associated pricing are, in my mind, NOT in line with anything we've seen before for a vehicle this size without a pack in figure. I believe I paid less for my BMF for crying out loud, with the sales right before Christmas the first year it came out. I'm not sure how much I paid for the BAT-AT, but I don't remembering being $200. Maybe it was.... but that's they type of vehicle that's suitable in my mind for the $100 plus price point... so you can see why the price of the hover tank sets me right off.  :mad0137:
I believe the BAT-AT was $150, and I got mine on a BOGO with a fellow snowtrooper, bringing it down to 25% off.
The Falcon I believe I paid about $150. I got it on sale, but donít remember what the regular price was.
But those two examples really put the hovertank in perspective.
I think in the end the most important thing is finding what we like in this hobby. Toys are a luxury. Toys are expensive. SW toys are expensive. So they are. We're way past years of abundance. But honestly I'd have no room to store new products if they were released at the same pace as what we were offered 8-10 years ago. So I welcome this new era with some peace of mind... :)
Absolutely 100% with you on this. This is essentially my approach. I buy what I like and pay what Iím comfortable paying. :)

And yet the Rogue One Tank is judged to be too expensive..

It is too expensive. Pick any comparable vehicle packed with a figure from the past & tell me it wasn't half the price. Big Wing TIE? Luke's larger X-Wing? These were $75 max. There's inflation, then there's gouging. The $120 is double what I'd consider an acceptable price - $200 at EB games is off the charts preposterous.

I get that they're not selling vehicles in the numbers they were during the prequel era - demand just isn't the same - but I feel that price is a slap in the face - like they're experimenting to find out just how much people will pay.  :fighting0072:

Again, ships from the past are:

TLJ Tie Silencer 70$
TLJ Resistance Speeder 60$
TFA Tie Fighter 70$
Wampa with Luke 35$ (WTF??)
Flimbsy Enfys Nest Swoop Bike 35$ (WTF WTF WTF????)
BB-8 Playset 299$ (WHAT????)
6" Figures 35$ (Really??)
3.75" TVC figures 18$ (hey?)

These are the most recent ships/products that you need to compare the Rogue One Tank with. Not the ships from 8-10 years ago. We're not at the time where you could find a TVC Endor AT-AT for 89$ at TRU. We're not at a time when we could find a Deluxe ship for 20-22$. This time is past and done. It's pre-Disney. Before the licence fees jumped up. Now, reality is for a crappy SW ship being sold at 70$ whereas it should not be valued at more than 35$.

Compared to the Tie Silencer (which I own), the Rogue One Tank is a masterpiece that deserves the 120$ price point. Really. I'm not saying it's not expensive. It is. But too expensive? It's relative. Compared to what? To TMNT toys? MArvel Superheroes? Maybe, yes. But certainly not compared to other SW toys. Let's face it: toys are a luxury, even nowadays. And SW toys are really expensive due to the brand. It's high-priced toys because the licence fees are humongous and Disney knows these toys will sell.

The thing is, SW toys ARE all expensive. And it's not about to stop: Hasbro phasing out of China to go to Mexico or Macao will rise the prices. That's already been announced by the NY Times by the way. Expect a price increase in everything Hasbro sells by this coming January.

Your post actually supports my opinion very well. Prices across the board are too expensive for SW toys. And I completely disagree with not being able to compare to 8 to 10 years ago. That's EXACTLY what we should compare current prices to. Prices in many cases have gone up more than what inflation, increased licence fees, or increased factory labour costs would account for. In my opinion, as none of use have any empirical data for this. But we shouldn't just chalk it up to the Disney era and not complain. I complain if I think something is not of value and I "vote with my wallet".

Objectively speaking, as beautiful a vehicle as the hover tank may be, its not a $120 toy. Just like all the other examples you cited are not good value for the money. I occasionally overpay for some items because I like them enough. But I still think it's worth noting when things are overpriced. To say people are accepting of other items and not the hover tank seems a little off,  as I see equal complaints about many different things. And contrary to your point, yet supported by your examples,  I think those complaints are justified.

Oh man this looks great. I was just recently looking at those slip covers on ebay and man $17US each is pretty extreme. I would love to outfit some of my OT black series figures that I have kept boxed into some of these.

I very much appreciate when fellow collectors with talent make these kinds of things available at a nominal cost. Like Frank Diorio's diorama materials. I don't mind paying a fee but it is hard to justify when the slip cover is basically the cost of an actual figure.

I look forward to seeing your progress. I'll think on it and if I have any suggestions I'll be happy to pass them on. Though things look to be going beautifully as they are. Good stuff!!!!
