Non-Star Wars Toys / Super7 Masters of The Universe Vintage Collection
« on: January 21, 2020, 08:11:44 PM »
I recently became aware of the existence of these nifty Super7 Masters of The Universe Vintage Collection action figures. They look like reproductions of the 80's originals and I'm interested in buying some. So far, I've only seen them listed via 3rd-party sellers (normally in the USA) on amazon.ca and a handful of sellers on amazon.com that will ship to Canada. e.g.  https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Super7+Masters+of+The+Universe+Vintage+Collection&i=toys-and-games&rh=n%3A165793011&dc&qid=1579655244&ref=sr_ex_p_36_0

I'm wondering, does anyone know of a Canadian-based retailer stocking these?

I already got all the figures I wanted weeks ago. No basic figure line. No vehicles. It's kinda boring.

Anyone else feeling let down?

Scout Report / Carbonized Collection -- The Mandalorian
« on: December 15, 2019, 06:01:21 PM »
I've seen posts that the Carbonized Mandalorian was available on the Toys R Us website, but I noticed today that the link's been taken down.
I've never seen one in store myself, nor do I know of anyone actually picking one up.

Has anyone here actually purchased a Carbonized Mandalorian from Toys R Us in-store? I'm wondering if I've missed out, or just need to keep waiting.

Scout Report / Poe Dameron Helmet?
« on: October 15, 2019, 04:33:10 PM »
I've been looking to pick up a Black Series Poe Dameron helmet to go with a Halloween costume this year, but I realized only now that they're kinda hard to track down now. I was so used to seeing them everywhere, I neglected to consider they're a couple of years old now.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I should check for one? Good stores (retail or online) for a fair price? Amazon seems to be sold out other than re-sellers and I don't want to go the eBay route if I can avoid it.

Wampa Cave / Basic 3 3/4 inch figures for Rise of Skywalker?
« on: September 04, 2019, 08:18:56 PM »
Say, I read somewhere (reddit, maybe? can't find it now) that there will only be the new 5" Galaxy of Adventures, 6" Black Series and a small handful (3-4) Vintage Collection figures made for Rise of Skywalker... no basic 3 3/4 5POA line.

Has anyone else heard this? Any real news sources reporting this? Would that mean no vehicles either?
I find this hard to believe, but, if true, I guess that's the end of an era. No dedicated 3 3/4" line for a new movie would just be devastating to me as a collector.

Wampa Cave / Merry Christmas everyone!

How'd you all make out for Star Wars stuff this year?

We made an order from Target shipped to Canada so I got the Solo Trooper 6-pack, Molock Black Series and the Vandor-1 Playset. I'm very happy!

Online Shopping - Who's Got the Hot Items??? / canadiantire.ca
« on: October 17, 2018, 12:38:26 PM »
I noticed today that Canadian Tire is advertising some very low clearance prices on some of last year's Star Wars stock. The ROTJ 3-Pack for $10 and the Saga 8-Pack for $25, for instance

Wampa Cave / What's up with the scalper pricing by Amazon?
« on: July 01, 2018, 12:07:18 PM »
Does anyone know of a change in Amazon.ca policy recently to have "dynamic pricing" or some other garbage to justify overcharging for in-demand toys?

Here just two examples of Ships from and sold by Amazon.ca. product listings at significantly over MSRP:

Compared to, say Qi'ra which is listed at retail price: https://www.amazon.ca/Star-Wars-Force-Corellia-Figure/dp/B0721JXH1Y

I know they're just toys meant mostly for adults with disposable income, but this makes me so angry that I'm purposefully directing my collecting dollars elsewhere.

Scout Report / Solo toys tomorrow?

So, what do we all think? If I go to a store in Canada tomorrow, will I find a bunch of Solo toys?

Off Topic / Site like this, but for Marvel Legends?
« on: February 22, 2018, 12:20:23 AM »
Anyone collect Marvel Legends?
I've gotten in to them a bit more recently and I'm looking for some good collector resources. Anyone know of a site like Snowtroopers for Marvel Legends? Something Canadian-based would be my preference.

Thanks.

Off Topic / Where to buy Skylanders
« on: November 12, 2017, 08:42:00 PM »
My kids just started getting in to Skylanders.
He's got a few on his wishlist that I can't track down in town. I never paid much attention to them in the past and it seems like some characters are rarer than others.

Anyone know of any online stores that have reasonable prices & ship to Canada?
