Online Shopping - Who's Got the Hot Items??? /
« on: June 26, 2022, 11:14:58 AM »
Have a few items in my cart there on an advisory from OMB (the snow spider Mando & Grogu set are still in stock there for a good price).

Anyone able to chime in about how they are to deal with? I keep adding things to my cart in hopes of triggering free shipping, but nothing yet.

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Obi Wan Kenobi
« on: June 26, 2022, 09:22:40 AM »
Well the show came & went without a designated discussion area so I figured I'd create one better-late-than-never style.

For me, the goods outweighed the bads (much like Book of Boba Fett).

I'm never thrilled when new content forces me to adjust my Original Trilogy thinking, and there is a bit of that cognitive dissonance here. Will we see a stealth amendment of the classic Leia hologram scene in ANH as a result? I hope not... but wouldn't be surprised.

Much like Book, the chase scene stood out as comedically poor. Young Leia was very good overall though, really enjoyed her portrayal.

Ewan was great, as he always is.

Seeing Vader victimize innocents trying to lure Ben out of hiding was pretty stark to behold. Vader has truly gone full dark side by this point & he was as menacing here as he was during the original trilogy. I was quite happy with how Vader was portrayed overall.

The duels were good. I appreciate there is a need to keep going bigger & bigger with them, but they weren't out of control. Vader's classic fighting style was represented fairly well here in my opinion.

Seeing life on Alderaan actually in progress made my heart happy. Really enjoyed those segments.

The Vintage Collection (TVC) / Emperor's Throne Room playset
« on: October 31, 2021, 08:50:14 AM »
Anyone? With the Emperor announced as an upcoming single carded TVC figure, I'm passing on the throne set for $50.

Previously available for pre-order at EB Games Gamestop, but currently showing out of stock.

You heard it here first - Old JJ (really old now) is officially a grandpa. Our daughter pushed out her daughter yesterday at 10am after a long labour. Everyone seems to be nice and healthy for now. The happiness & relief I'm feeling are hard to beat!  :u:

I was referred to this site by a fellow forum member. I placed my order for the Black Series Snowspeeder & was very pleased when it arrived that it was expertly packed & showed up quickly. The item shipped from Montreal so I can only assume that is where the business is located.

Communication was great - I got a text message when the item shipped & emails from Canadapost updating as it traveled. An unexpected but pleasant thing to see.

Would 100 percent deal with again.

Very impressed with my first order from these folks.

Ordered my black series Snowspeeder & got confirmation of the order immediately, followed by a shipping confirmation about 24hrs later. The box arrived in pristine shape, packed very professionally. Would not hesitate to order from again at all.

Nice job, whomever you are.

As I see more & more players at training camps from various sports testing positive for Covid, I can't help but think it's not worth the risk. The owners/leagues/unions seem to want to wait until someone loses a battle with the illness to call it quits. I'm happy that some big names are saying NOPE (Mike Trout for example & there are lots of others).

Anyone else watch it out of curiosity on Disneyplus? The wife & I gave it a go last week & actually quite enjoyed it. I don't think we've actually sat through a "musical" together since what, Lion King???? Catchy songs, interesting characters.... I was actually impressed by the way the actors dealt with all the set pieces too. Good show.

Alright, I'm ready - do your worst.  :explosion:        :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

Even though it's happening in the era of Covid, I hope you get an opportunity to spend some time with family & friends, preferably outside enjoying your beverage of choice in some beautiful weather. Have a great Canada Day, everyone!  :artoo: :artoo: :artoo:

Not to play into the insanity, but I wanted to share this resource in case anyone wants another source to confirm information about the virus, travel advisories, steps to take if you feel sick, etc. Stay healthy, troopers.

Info from OMB - the vehicle apparently has a tough time standing. After a fair bit of work he was able to find a somewhat stable pose:

Thanks for another year of great laughs, trades and discussion. Even though I'm not in love with what I got from the other jj this christmas, I am still very much in love with star wars, and keeping in touch with all of you certainly propels that forward. I hope you all enjoy some excellent time with your people over the next few days.
