Non-Star Wars Toys / HASLAB Marvel's Galactus
« on: August 30, 2021, 11:33:53 PM »
Decided to 'back' only one of these in the last hour of the campaign. The units sold is approaching 30,000...about 8,000 more than the Sentinel.  I'm surprised that they sold more Galactus's than Sentinels. Sentinels are more of an army builder figure, not Galactus. I guess Galactus is more popular. The Sentinel is already pre-selling after-market for around $1100Cdn. Same thing with the Razor Crest.

Scout Report / Walmart BS Clone Wars Exclusives
« on: October 20, 2020, 07:56:03 PM »
It's because of a-h*les like this eBay seller why I cant find the BS Clone Wars Exclusives at retail in my area. He's selling 12 of the Mando Super Commandos which is exactly what most stores are receiving as stock.

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Star-Wars-Black-Series-Mandalorian-Super-Commando/184492118868?hash=item2af4965354:g:~WUAAOSwTmVfivUj

This is new product that just came out at retail, and it's not a product that we all have the equal opportunity of pre-ordering as Walmart's online pre-order window lasts only an hour or two.

Don't buy from these scalpers!!!...and he has crappy feeback also.

Black Series Mandalorian Imperial Stormtrooper....ugh!

First off...I hate the new packaging...it looks cheap. 7 pieces of tape....really??!! My stormtrooper face is off-centered....the nose piece is not centered between the eye lenses...the chin has black paint that looks like bad make-up running....the helmet looks like it will eventually 'yellow'....the chestplate seems to sag lower on the right side...and one shoulder piece looks bigger than the other. Oh...and this is just looking at it still sealed in the box. Way to go Hasbro...nice quality control.

Non-Star Wars Toys / HASLAB Marvel's Sentinel
« on: August 24, 2020, 11:19:38 PM »
I just bought my first Marvel Legends figure....ever! ...And it's a biggy!

I would be interested to hear from Marvel collectors if this is a good purchase/investment. I bought 4 Sail Barges as a die hard Star Wars collector and flipped 2 of them and made a good profit which brought down my cost of owning the other 2 Sail Barges I kept.  I'm curious whether or not the Sentinel could be flipped for a profit in the future. I honestly don't know what the ratio of Star Wars collectors there are to Marvel collectors. I would be interested in opinions of Marvel collectors.

I'm viewing this as a sought after collectible later and a centerpiece to a Marvel collection.....or will the market be saturated with them?... hmmmmmm

UPDATE: It's over!....22,550 pieces backed.

Wampa Cave / Canada Post Parcel Delivery Delays: A Star Wars Story
« on: June 09, 2020, 05:12:23 PM »
Hello fellow collectors!

I just thought I would vent my frustrations with Canada Post right now.  I get it that there is a Pandemic....I get it they are social distancing at the sorting facilities....what I don't get is how disorganised from a customer perspective they are at processing & delivering parcels during this time within a reasonable time. The delays I'm experiencing (and probably most of you) are beyond comprehension right now. Who the heck is organizing things there???  Nobody by the looks of things.

This is what I'm waiting on:
1. Parcel shipping from Entertainment Earth, left the USA for Canada on May 25th, has yet to processed by Canada Post  (heck I will gladly pay any duties and taxes just for a tracking update)....waiting over 2 weeks.
2. Parcel shipping from Mississauga ON, which is being shipped to my home address in Mississauga ON, shipment was picked up on May 29, was processed yesterday June 08, yet to go out for delivery. (took 10 days to process it through the Mississauga facility)
3. Parcel shipping form Montreal QC, left Montreal in transit on June 02, yet to be processed in Mississauga ON at the Mississauga facility. (7 days in transit...really?)
4. Another parcel shipping from Mississauga ON, picked up by Canada Post on June 01, has yet to be processed through the Mississauga facility (really 8 days and still not processed, it's in the same flippin' city!)
5. Parcel coming from Oshawa ON, shipment received by Canada Post on June 03, yet to be processed at Mississauga facility. (6 days processed at the post office, doesn't even show in transit to Mississauga facility.)
6. Parcel shipping from Mississauga ON, which was picked up on June 06 by Canada Post and delivered today (June 09) YAY!!! I got one........I just don't understand how this one got processed and delivered before the others.

All are medium to large packages....nothing overly huge.  All are Expedited Parcel....and 1 USA international parcel to Canada.

This is absolutely disgusting on Canada Post's part!!!

(I need my toys now.)

Scout Report / Black Series 40th ESB Anniversary Figures
« on: April 27, 2020, 01:54:47 PM »
I ordered 2 cases/sets of the 40th Anniversary wave 1 figures. They arrived today. I opened the cases up and I'm disappointed....why?..because of the return of 'Bubblegate'.
Both AT-AT Driver bubbles were separating from the cards....and one of my Leias is starting to separate on one corner. UGH!

Scout Report / BS 6 inch Yavin Luke: The Rise of 'Skywalkwer'
« on: October 25, 2019, 02:05:44 PM »
So....gotta love the quality control on the BS Yavin Luke packaging.....they spelled Skywalker wrong....it says 'SKYWALKwER.'

Too funny!

Hi Everyone,

**I would like to keep this topic focused on Vintage Collection figures**

I'm excited about the Vintage Collection returning....but I'm not excited when my Vintage Collection figures show up in the mail damaged or see them at retail damaged with bubbles hanging off. As someone who like to collect these figures as close to 'mint' condition as possible, it has been a struggle with orders coming from Amazon, ToysRUs, Walmart, EB Games, etc.  I've returned many Vintage Collection figures.....more than usual...because of the new Hasbro packaging and the lousy shipping and packing jobs by our local retailers.  I've even had issues with Dorkside Toys and BigBadToyStore as well. I have wasted a lot of time returning figures with damaged cardbacks and crushed bubbles.

Anyhow, I know everyone likes to spend the least amount of money on shipping....and not everyone can afford to pay a premium price....but I'm willing to pay a little more for shipping and  packaging if it means I'm going to get my Vintage Collection figures as close to mint condition as possible.

So....my most successful delivery of 'near-mint/mint' vintage collection figures and vehicles/playsets is from robotkingdom.com in Hong Kong.

I have received 3 packages from them in the last month and all my vintage collection items have been 'near-mint/mint' condition.  They double box if you order full cases, and reinforce the shipping box with styrofoam piece....and they custom cut the styrofoam to fit every little space in the shipping box. I receive my orders within less than 6 business days....so shipping is fast with tracking. They take credit card orders via PayPal. Shipping will be high.  I have ordered the following with success:

Jabba's Palace Adventure Playset $59.90 (these are 2 to a case....and they where double-boxed)
Han Solo Stormtrooper Disguise $14.90 (Target exclusive)
Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard)$14.90 (Walmart exclusive)
Luke's Skywalkers's Tauntuan $29.90 (Target exclusive from 2011)...Yes! they have brand new 'old' stock of these.
Han Solo (Echo Base), Darth Vader, Princess Leia (Hoth Outfit), Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture) $62.90 ...these are the retooled 2nd release of these figures with photorealistic profiles

I have been so pleased with their shipping that I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.  I would highly recommend ordering from them if you are looking to get your vintage collection figures and vehicles/playsets in 'near-mint/mint' condition....and you don't mind paying a premium.  (They also have other Star Wars figures including 6-inch exclusives.)

UPDATE: 2 out of 3 orders I had to pay customs fees on. And the funny thing is... my most expensive order, I did NOT have to pay custom charges.
