Wampa Cave / Free PC Games from Epic Game Store
« on: December 17, 2022, 11:27:21 AM »
Epic Game Store gives away a free PC game every week and currently for Xmas they're giving away one a day.

I forgot to post about this when they were giving away Star Wars: Squadrons for free.

There is a Mac version of the Epic Games Store but I don't know if they're giving away free Mac games.

Lego / LEGO sale
« on: December 15, 2022, 11:28:38 AM »
35% off Advent Calendar - 38.99.

30% off Ambush on Ferrix - 62.99

Some other SW sets are 25% off -

Edit: Modified subject so people wouldn't be misled although it is in the LEGO forum
Edit2: Ambush on Ferrix no longer available at sale price

Saw some of the Jazwares Micro Galaxy Squadron items at a Walmart. There were 2 display cases of 12 Scout Class Mystery boxes - blind boxes with a speeder and a figure - 7.97. There are 3 chase speeders - one of which is "super-rare".

Also saw some Light Armor Class vehicles: the regular Tie Fighter, regular AT-ST and Ventress's (sic) Genivix SF - 16.97. I didn't see any chase vehicles nor any of the Walmart exclusive vehicles: Fett's Starship, Imperial Troop Transport (Rebels) and Razor Crest (Arvala-7).

Too many chase vehicles for my liking not even including the SDCC one.

Wampa Cave / Zellers is "back" as a pop-up shop at Burlington Mall Bay
« on: September 25, 2021, 04:25:37 PM »
Saw an article that mentioned the Burlington (ON) Mall was opening a Zellers pop-up shop with emphasis on clothing, toys and housewares:

I was interested by the toys part but was skeptical because one of the photos showed what looked like the old toy section just with Zellers signage. Plus toywise there has been little new in-store or online especially Star Wars.

I decided to take a look. It was as expected the old toy section rebranded as Zellers. Across from the toys is the clothing and housewares section. There is red paint on the floor to delineate the Zellers section.

There were a lot of toys on clearance and I saw little new. There was no new Lego or Mega Construx. As for Star Wars the only new items I saw were Mattel The Child plush figures and 2 Lightsaber Squad lightsabers.

On clearance were some old SW Lego sets: Moloch's Landspeeder, 2018 Advent Calendar, Resistance Transport Pod and Death Star Cannon. There were Spark & Go BB-8/D-0 and GOA figures: R2, BB-8 & D-0 multipack and tube Leias and Hans.

This is not the Zellers we are looking for except maybe the clearance part but that assumes they have something you want. I suppose once they clear out some items the situation could get better but I'm not holding my breath.

Wampa Cave / Walmart Canada discontinuing Ad Match Oct 15
« on: September 19, 2020, 09:17:35 AM »
Global News has an article about Walmart ending ad price matching and it has been mentioned on Twitter. Walmart is also confirming this online

The Global article states stores will match prices in store but the website says certain conditions must be met such as in stock at, sold directly by Walmart and other ones. Even if you meet all conditions a supervisor could decide to deny a price match.

While at Superstore I took a look at the toy aisles and there were 2 new Hasbro figure lines out. Unfortunately they're both budget lines.

There were 3.75" zero-articulation figurines: Luke, Vader, FO Stormie and Chewbacca - 5.98. Made in Vietnam with a date code of 93651. Yakface has a report of these being found in the US in November

There were also 9.5" Olympus 4POA figures: Luke, Vader, FO Stormie and Kylo Ren - 12.98. Again made in Vietnam with a date code of 00381. JTA has a post about these figures

Scout Report / Dollarama
« on: October 16, 2019, 11:40:12 AM »
Saw 4 of the 12-inch Hero Series Enfys Nest at a Dollorama - $4.

Exceptions include clearance and 2 items at 60% and 50% off respectively: TFA extendable light sabers - 5.97 and Rogue One 5 POA - 3.47.

Shown are TLJ Force Link 1.0 figures - 7.47 and BS Darth Vader Premium Helmet - 119.97.

There is also 20% off of 39.99 and up SW Lego sets. Excludes sets ending in .94 and clearance items.

Excludes clearance items as per usual.

Two specific items mentioned in the ad are BS 6" 29.99 figures 40% off - 17.97 and Nerf Hercules (Chewbacca) Blaster 16.7% off - 49.97.

3 Solo Lego items are shown but the prices end in .94 which typically means they won't be part of a sale although at 5 cents less than the usual price one could tehnically claim they are discounted. I think most SW Lego items will be discounted.

Dollaramas are getting in 2 TOS sets: Guardian of Forever and Day of the Dove - $4.

Some of the 2018 sets are out at TRU ahead of the official Jan 1 release date. Currently the sets have prices ending in .94 so they are not part of the Star Wars buy 1 get second 1/2 off sale. Saw the following sets:

75199 General Greivous' Combat Bike - 34.94
75200 Ahch-To Island Training - 34.94
75202 Defense of Crait - 99.94.

These other sets may also be out:

75197 First Order Specialists Battle Pack

6" Value figures - 4.77
Forces of Destiny basic doll - 17.97
12" Hero Series figures - 8.97
Resistance Ski Speeder - 35.97.

The ad says all action figures but when I scanned a Big-Fig , it came up at regular price - 34.99.

Some Hot Wheels items are on sale:

Character cars - 3.57
Starships (single) - 4.17
Mos Eisley Junction - 8.97
Death Star Attack - 11.97.

Edit: add HW Starships

Scout Report / Ontario Superstores - save the tax today August 12
« on: August 12, 2017, 01:16:51 PM »
I don't know if it applies to other provinces but one can save the tax on a variety of items including toys at Ontario Superstores today.

Most SW action figures are 50% off or more: 5POA - 4.44, 2-packs 10.94, 12" - 7.94 and 18-20" Big-Figs - 17.44. Some Superstores have the Big-Fig Hovertank Pilot which I haven't seen elsewhere. The 3.75 Tie Striker and various MIcroMachines are also 50% off. As I reported in the LEGO forum, clearance LEGO is 50% off and the 2 Superstores I checked still had clearance LEGO.
