I contacted haslab directly. Didn't think to call hasbro canada.

And I agree about yak face. It would be a pain to deal with all the possible scammers.

I know in the past, if Hasbro Canada brought a wave in, it eventually showed up at regular retail. No matter what. Even if it meant skipping straight to winners at clearance prices. HasCan would only bring waves in at certain minimum quantities, or they would skip the wave entirely. Don't know if that's the case anymore, but you'd think if they brought some in, it was with the expectation TRU and/or walmart was going to carry them. In which case, that stock has to go somewhere, and I can't imagine that much stock would blow through smaller retailers. But who knows, we don't know the quantity that Hasbro Canada brings in these days.

I wonder if the language of the packaging has affected the amounts that HasCan imports now too. Back in the day when Hasbro did english only packaging for the US and we had to have separate special bilingual packaging to sell in Canada, it would only be worthwhile for HasCan to import a pretty high volume due to the expense. I know some waves were never in multilingual packaging and got skipped entirely in Canada. Now all packaging is multilingual, so they can just bring in a smaller amount. Now there's less demand at retail, so they just bring in a really small amount. And they may not even bring in enough to stock every location, only enough to restock the stores that are low. Which these days is not very many since stock is not moving at retail.

In the past we missed a lot of stuff, but at least it followed a pattern and was relatively predictable (First wave gluts, last wave syndrome, target exclusives showing up at zellers, if tru missed a wave, usually zellers or walmart would get it, and vice versa...). Right now there's a huge glut the likes of which we've not seen since Episode I, and we can't count on anything coming to retail anymore.

I received my replacement sail from hasbro. They sent it no questions asked. Only problem is they sent just the fabric. The sails that were in the box had the plastic ribs pre-inserted. So I have to take the ribs from my old sail and insert them. But they don't go in as flush and they end up bowed. So now I have to contact them again. The replacement sail should have come with all the ribs preinserted.

They said they would need to get back to me on the yak face. Still no follow up from them on that. They probably have a tonne of people calling about yak face. I imagine a lot of people might complain for no legit reason in hopes to get an extra. He's very valuable and an easy target for complaints. I'm happy to send mine back if I know I can get a replacement that is not "an equivelent" figure as is standard hasbro procedure. But this is obviously not a standard situation. We'll see what happens.

Yeah this is probably the driest spell since I started back up in 1995. I went into TRU the other day for the first time in weeks. And I didn't even know why I was going other than by habit because I happened to be going by and had time. I don't remember the last time I went into a TRU and didn't have a hope of finding something. They've basically stopped getting black series or vintage.

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Re: Star Wars Resistance

I've watched a few episodes and the rest are sitting on my PVR waiting to be watched. The first few episodes have not inspired me to spend the time watching the rest. I don't hate it or anything but it just feels kinda forgettable.
While I like the actual animation well enough the lanky character designs leave a lot to be desired. I guess it goes with the sort of bumbling comedic tone of the series, which I don't really care for.

I'll watch the rest eventually but I'm in no rush.

Was there any coverage of this series at Celebration? If there was I can see how it would get lost among episode 9 and the Mandalorian.  But I haven't seen anything. And will the toys be continuing?

Managed to find the exclusive footage. So dumb to keep it secret. Anyway it looks fantastic. I'm definitely intrigued and can't wait to follow the Mandalorian's adventures.

Apparently coming November 12 along with Disney+ launch. I wonder how it will be coming to Canada.

Sadly Clone Wars was taken off Netflix today.

This is why I prefer to buy the blu-rays for shows & movies that are part of my fandom - don't have to be at the whim of rights holders and streaming companies. Other programs are fair game, but when it comes to Star Wars, Marvel, etc. I like to have everything on the shelf.

Agree 100% physical media is dying but it's still so much better than streaming. And then you have it. Plus all the extras. I buy very few movies or TV anymore but CW is worth owning. I really didn't like the first couple seasons but the show really grew on me.

He's a complete skip for me since I'm primarily OT only. And I never cared for the character. He just felt highly disposable.

Price is now down to 29.99 for the concept case. I finally went for it.

Read an interview online from toy fair. Concept vehicles were apparently successful. Not sure how well they were distributed in the US but I guess some folks were able to find them.

But the concept line is discontinued until at least after episode 9 is done. So maybe next year there will be more but nothing planned.

Anyway I'm looking forward to getting these now. ☺

I put together my barge over the weekend. Had a hell of a time getting the canopy to stretch enough to get the little clips to slot in. In fact I ended up leaving one unconnected. As hard as I pulled, the closest I could get to pulling it over the edge is about 1/2 a cm away. Just too far to stretch. The sewing on the canopy was a little uneven, so I don't know if that had something to do with it. It looks fine on display, as that clip is on the starboard side of the barge, so you can't see it.

And my jail gate won't fully open without a lot of force. I've worked it open and closed a few times, but it still doesn't get past that one hump without real effort. Not sure how much more I'll force it.

Other than that everything went together beautifully and it looks fantastic on my shelf. My daughter had some fun helping me populate it even though she's not a SW fan. She and my wife both couldn't believe how big the box was.

Anyway, I think I'll contact hasbro about my yak face tomorrow. I may reexamine my one sail and see if it is a bit defective in the sewing. If so I will see what they say about that.

Overall, I'm happy with it. Definitely glad to have it in the collection.

Finally picked mine up from fedex last night. Had to drive 1/2 hour since fedex wouldn't drop it at a local depot. I dont understand that one. Still I'd rather that than have it left unattended at my doorstep. I nearly blew away on my way from the door of the building to my car. It was sooo windy.

My box had several gashes in it. Sadly one deep enough that it poked a quarter size hole in the front of the vintage box. I can probably tape it from behind and it will probably not be too noticeable.  I can live with that.

My Yakface is definitely not pristine. Top left corner was bumped so it has some layer seperation in the corner. Plus a very noticable thin mark/scratch about an inch long on the back. And the entire bubble was sealed at a 10 or 15 degree angle on the card so it looks skewed. Enough that I'll be contacting customer service.

I have yet to get the barge out of the Styrofoam to assemble. That will be today. Hopefully everything goes together nicely.

On a plus side from hasbro I received a seemingly random call from a new york phone number yesterday evening. To my amazement, it was hasbro checking to see why I hadn't received my barge yet. They were following the tracking and wanted to make sure I was going to be able to get my barge. He offered to get fedex to make another delivery attempt. I said it was okay that I would be picking it up that night. Hopefully they will show as high a level of customer service regarding my yakface issues.

Can't wait to put the barge together today!

My tracking says they tried to deliver to me about 20 minutes ago. Now it's expected to arrive tomorrow by 5. I tried to "manage delivery" and it still won't let me do anything. I'll likely need to phone to arrange pickup.

Mine is to be delivered before 8 PM tonight!

Same here.

Would've been nice if hasbro sent the tracking info on Friday when it went out. I wanted to manage my shipment but the package is already on the truck and I can't do anything now. Not a huge deal but a bit annoying.

I have my spot cleared and waiting. Right now my wee skiff is holding the nice 4+ feet of shelf space all by itself. Can't wait to fill the void.

Not looking forward to dusting the thing though... Especially if I populate it with all of Jabba's minions.
