Other Star Wars Toys & Collectibles / Re: Hot Wheels
« on: June 27, 2019, 06:41:55 AM »
Star Wars Hot Wheels as a product line seem to be effectively dead in Canada. The latest I've seen are the solo carships 2nd wave and that was in late 2018.

It's odd because Mattel has an sdcc star wars hot wheels exclusive this year (mouse droid) but their entire line is effectively a 3rd party scalper or ebay exclusive because we can't actually acquire their product any other way.

If hot wheels was supposed to be Mattel's way of showing Disney that they can beat Hasbro at their own game and that they're worthy of a star wars license, they had a good start but at this point they've failed.

Online Shopping - Who's Got the Hot Items??? / Re: ToysRUs.ca Updates

I saw that the retro figures were briefly available on the tru website today, or I thought they were, add to cart was a clickable button but they would not actually get into the cart. Minutes later they were unavailable again. Did anyone have any luck?

Then I just went to the store to buy the Retro figures to calm myself down.

 :speechless-smiley-004: :P

That's the spirit!

I backed it, it looks like they'll do a nice job of it and the vintage collection is my favorite line so it was only a question of what bundle to choose. They've got the right insider people involved on this, hopefully some interesting stories find their way onto the pages.

Who knows,  they might do a volume 2 at some point to keep it up to date, but I'll assume they won't and that way I won't be disappointed.

Either way, this will be a good snapshot in time of (in my opinion) the best toy line of the modern era.

The Vintage Collection (TVC) / Re: TVC - Jabba's Palace Diorama
« on: May 28, 2019, 07:23:14 AM »
I don't believe these will be available from Walmart in Canada or from online dealers in Canada. As DarthCujo said, Hasbro USA indicated they will be available in store later this year, they said they underestimated the popularity of the set and were surprised by the rapid preorders they received.
If you missed the preorder or they messed up your preorder, probably best to wait and not accept scalpers' prices.

Scout Report / Re: May the 4th 2019 - What did you get?
« on: May 04, 2019, 04:59:12 PM »
I picked up:
1. A few sets at Lego store, got the poster and the free battle of hoth set. Also did the blockade runner mini build with my son, they let parents do it too so we both got one!
2. Disney store May the 4th boba fett pin and free Ep1 litho.
3. Hallmark Medal of Yavin ornament.

Had no problem getting any of them so that was cool.
