The website actually says they are closing stores until March 30th.

You are correct

I think Hasbro was BSing us.

Certainly seems that way.

What do they have to gain from claiming things like this, though?

What ever happened to the "other 70% of unreleased TROS" figures? Legitimate question. Didn't Hasbro say they held back a bunch of Rise of Skywalker merchandise to avoid spoilers? Are they really only releasing, what, 5 characters from the movie?

Non-Star Wars Toys / Super7 Masters of The Universe Vintage Collection
« on: January 21, 2020, 08:11:44 PM »
I recently became aware of the existence of these nifty Super7 Masters of The Universe Vintage Collection action figures. They look like reproductions of the 80's originals and I'm interested in buying some. So far, I've only seen them listed via 3rd-party sellers (normally in the USA) on and a handful of sellers on that will ship to Canada. e.g.

I'm wondering, does anyone know of a Canadian-based retailer stocking these?

Geez. $15 for basic figures. I can't see how a non-collector line can survive with prices like that. Don't seem competitive at all. Even Lego Brickheads and their small ~70 piece sets are less than $15. What kid's gonna spend $15 on that kind of action figure. This is not a good look for Hasbro.

I only collect Bespin-themed ESB characters in 6" so that's one way to avoid buying too many. I recently decided to pick up the 6" Mandalorian figures largely due to lack of anything in 3 3/4" scale.

If Hasbro wanted to ensure that I didn't pick up anything else, this is a good way to do it :-/

You're right. Over-produced toys for the last few films, but I would have been happy with a half dozen Vintage Collection figures released on Dec 20 to coincide with the movie. Just feels weird to me to have nothing to buy at all for a new movie.

I suppose it'll be like this until Hasbro loses the license

Christmas miracle. Stopped by the mall to pick up some cinnamon buns and decided to pop in to Toys R Us. Wouldn't you know it, two freaking Carbonized Mandalorians on the shelf. I couldn't believe it.

My son is gonna flip out on Christmas morning

I already got all the figures I wanted weeks ago. No basic figure line. No vehicles. It's kinda boring.

Anyone else feeling let down?

Wampa Cave / Re: How should I see TROS?

I find it depends a lot on the theater itself. It's very common for the theater owners to dial down the brightness on their projectors to extend the life of the digital projector. It makes the film too dark and is terrible particularly for 3D (which needs to be extra bright, or it sucks).

If you can find it, IMAX WITH LASER is probably the top-of-the-line projection system going these days. I know it exists in Canada, but they don't have one in Ottawa, where I am. Scotiabank Theater in Toronto is supposed to have one.

Wow. Thanks for posting that. Sounds really cool. I'm very interested in that metal bucket

Scout Report / Carbonized Collection -- The Mandalorian

I've seen posts that the Carbonized Mandalorian was available on the Toys R Us website, but I noticed today that the link's been taken down.
I've never seen one in store myself, nor do I know of anyone actually picking one up.

Has anyone here actually purchased a Carbonized Mandalorian from Toys R Us in-store? I'm wondering if I've missed out, or just need to keep waiting.
