I asked about why TRU was now wanting $75 to get free shipping when it used to be $35... seemed like a stupid thing to do given that their main competitors Amazon and Walmart would still ship for free if you spent $35.  Put them at a huge competitive disadvantage.

I was told by the asst manager that the company had switched to a different shipping provider (maybe this is part of why they can now offer 24 hour shipping via DoorDash?) and the cost was now higher.

They really need to lower it down to at least $50 (cost of 2 6-inch figures) because it is hard for me to spend $75 in any go when their online stock levels are so crap that there's barely anything to even buy.

They don't have to use time travel (but they probably will, and I'm okay with that, even if time travel does really only belong in Star Trek and Terminator).

Another option could be that a CGI Luke could simply awaken from a deep Force meditation having seen the sequel trilogy as a possible future, throws up a little bit in his mouth from the awful stench of having seen those films... errr, possible future, and he takes some steps to ensure that his academy never is destroyed from within.

He opts to nurture Ben Solo and give him special attention to keep him on the light side (which is what the REAL Luke would've done, rather than contemplate killing him in his sleep).  At the same time, if Grogu is the catalyst that allowed the Imperials to clone a Snoke puppet, then he sends Grogu far away out of the reach of both himself and dark side agents... preventing Snoke from coming to pass.

And finally he marries Mara Jade, has some kids, and dies in his sleep having fulfilled his promise to restart the Jedi.  THE END.

From what I've heard, Book of Fett comes first in winter 2021, but that then means that s3 of Mando won't debut until 2022 (noooooooo....)

They seem to be doing something where the various spinoffs are going to build into a single event (a la MCU's Infinity War), which who knows, maybe that event would be depicted in a feature film?  That would be the smart way of doing it, and get audiences to race back to the theaters again.

Personally, that major event to me could only be the use of the World between Worlds to erase the sequel trilogy or consign it to an alternate timeline, as a few online people have speculated on. I'll give Disney $10 to see that happen.

This finale clearly brought a lot of much-needed joy to Star Wars fans.  Finally some real respect paid to the legacy of Star Wars, rather than trying to bury it.

Even though I knew what was coming, I was still on the verge of getting teary eyed when it finally happened. If it was Rian Johnson, you know it would've been a stupid bait-and-switch, but thankfully they went all-in.

Some of the fan responses to "the moment":

Quote
I admit I was sobbing, it was crazy. I was so emotionally invested in todayís story. No shame from me I know how you feel.

Quote
I never get that way with movies or TV but honestly I nearly cried tears of joy.

Quote
I straight up am ugly crying. Straight up.

Quote
I immediately choked up and felt a tear run down my face.

Quote
I watched it as soon as it came out. And now, 13 hours later, Iím still on an emotional high. Itís a presence I havenít felt from any kind of media in a long time.

Quote
That look Moff Gideon gave looking at the monitor.. said it all..

Quote
I HUGGED my pillow and screamed. I felt like I'd waited 35 years to see that scene.

Quote
My son and I were up at 1 AM screaming our heads off. Needed that.

Quote
Im a 47 year old grown man. But for a moment last night I was 8 years old again. I cried, I yelled, I was hyperventilating. Our 18 year old was cheering. My wife and other son laughing at us. Good times.

Quote
I felt the same way. I watched it with my 16 year old son and he too is a [XXXX] fan, just like his father. I told him ďI waited 40 years for thisĒ.  We both cry and screamed from the top of our lungs. We both lost our voices but it was worth it.

Quote
I completely agree!! It was intense and then I screamed with pure happiness!! I did cry because the emotion was so but up!
Such an incredible episode!

Quote
I was in tears with my fiancť watching & Iím not even a hardcore SW fan (he is). The  sincere joy in his face combined with the storyline I lost it

Quote
When me and my son watched "the moment", we shouted "oh my god!" at the same time. I'm 42 and my son is 11. You joined two generations in a scream. Thanks!

Quote
Itís the only time Iíve ever literally shrieked at the television in my 37 years on the planet! The end had me bawling like a baby. Just perfect wasnít it?

Quote
Do you know how many 50 year old men reverted to 8 year old boys with tears streaming down their faces?!?!  Decades in the making, never thought I'd see that kid ever again.  Thanks to everyone that made this legendary moment in a brilliant series.

Quote
Iíve watched it twice now and have cried and sobbed like a kid both times... Words fail me. How to possibly describe such emotion. Happy and thankful is a huge understatement

This is what happens when you give the franchise to real SW fans.

I have the Black Series child in front of me here, and I put it next to my 4-inch 5POA Boba Fett figure, then compared it to the TVC photo. I'd say that the child in the Walmart pack is slightly smaller than the Black series one.

I noticed in the season finale of today's Mando episode that there are moments when the Child's scale seems to fluctuate from scene-to-scene (he looks smaller when compared to the feet around him, but then larger when he is picked up and held in Mando's hands, and so on)

I use the Black Series child for both my 4-inch and 6-inch figures since the size of that toy seems almost like midway through both scales.

Wow, you just gave me a strange flashback... that same MPC photo is what had me convinced as a teen that the speeder bike was white, too!

I recall how odd it seemed when I first saw (as an adult) the brown speederbike made for the PotF2 line I think, surely Hasbro had gotten the color wrong for whatever reason.  I've gotten so acclimated to it being brown now, that I'd forgotten I used to believe it was white too.

Memory is a funny thing...

What's even the appeal of the grey/white speeder bike though?

I looked at this set and thought to myself:  90% recycled from past releases.  I could literally put together something similar with the Black series Baby Yoda, my Biker Scout, and of course the 2012 brown speeder bike.

Just find some kind of cloth handbag thing from my toybin to throw Baby Yoda into and voila... a somewhat inaccurate recreation, but still enough to get the gist of that scene.

Sometimes I get worried that we collectors really have become the Simpsons stereotyped toy collector chasing after Malibu Stacy with her new hat.

(and note, I include myself in that category... I bought that TVC Stormtrooper Luke recently even though the older TLC Stormtrooper Luke (from 2011?) was just as good, just because it had the photoreal Luke head)

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Re: STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII - THE LAST JEDI
« on: December 16, 2020, 02:11:36 PM »
There's been a supposed leak of the original script that JJ Abrams (ugh) and Lawrence Kasdan had written for episode 8, before KK decided to go with Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi story.

The leaker is purportedly a former employee at Bad Robot who took photos of the script and is only now providing info on what the original plans were.  As someone who reasonably enjoy TLJ (but for sure, can see the flaws in the story), I was amazed that hey, this script actually sounded pretty good, far better than TLJ in fact.

Watch the video for yourselves if you have time.  It features a Luke that had a family, that wasn't bitter or in hiding or drinking milk like a crazy person, but rather was using the Force from the nexus of the light side on Ach-To to fight Snoke from afar.  This is the Luke that I think fans wanted badly to see... and sadly never did.

AND this is a Rey that has a far better explanation for her superhuman skill in the Force, one that I think fans would find very acceptable!

My brother had actually called me during that flash sale and noted that the price of  one (and only one) of the Skiffs at his EB games was $24.99+tax (while the rest were still regular priced).

And no, the box was in mint condition. He even said that the other boxes of the regular-priced Skiffs were in slightly worse shape than the one that was on sale.

I hope Dave Filoni has an awesome early gift for us all this Friday morning.  :fett: :fett: :yoda: :fett: :fett:

He blows up the Slave 1, and then the pieces are used to rebuild a new Razorcrest?   :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

Merry Christmas y'all. May the vaccine be with you.

13
What if seasons 1 & 2 are Mando & Grogu, whereas seasons 3 & 4 are Mando & Boba?

Good point. Maybe the reason they destroyed the Razorcrest is so that Mando would have no choice but to now fly around with Boba Fett in the Slave 1.

Now that's a bromance roadtrip I'd like to see.

14
I'd bet that too.  It'll probably just be a situation similar to the Falcon, where the radar dish can be replaced with something just different enough to make it "new" (and fans would have to buy it again if they are really OCD about it).  Or just a new deco of some kind but the entire mold remains the same.

They blew up the USS Defiant in the final season of DS9, which at the time was shocking since it was the signature ship for the TV show, but then 2 episodes later, it was replaced with an identical starship that only had a different interior bridge and obviously a new registry (USS Defiant-A).

For now, I think there's some great humor and memes to be had, and imagining the sweaty forehead of the Hasbro Haslab product manager as he desperately calls up Disney screaming "WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING TO ME?!?!?"

If the Razorcrest II does only have a minor change to it, then Hasbro could even be really kind and include the alternate piece as a bonus to Haslab purchasers (it would have to come out of their bottomline, which I'm sure they'd not be happy about). More likely though, they'd probably use the difference as an excuse to release the mold at mass retail in a few years, claiming that it wasn't identical to the Haslab version and that they were not screwing over Haslab customers (a nice loophole for sure).

Lego made a Razor Crest.. they sell it for $159.99.  Amazon.ca is selling direct from themselves no market place and their price is $256.08.   But no they are not scalping !

Amazon.ca saw the latest episode and decided that since the LEGO Razorcrest comes to fans already in exploded bits and pieces, this is a premium that they can charge extra for!   :rollfloorlaffsmiley:
