Online Shopping - Who's Got the Hot Items??? / Re: Updates

I haven't received any emails about my DSD/Luke/Tusken orders (I did 2 pre-orders, with 1 of each figure in each order, in the off chance that might help at least one set to not get crushed). Just checked their status online now, and both orders had been upgraded to "processing" within the last hour. So maybe they'll actually show up.

You ordered Rebel set from EB games?   I donít see them on the site.

I think the comment was a reply to mine from the previous page, where I said that I had ordered a set from Pulse. I believe iWookiee also ordered from there.

Thanks for the info!
Just ordered mine!

Anyone knows if they'll get the Pulse exclusive Stormtrooper 4-pack also? Sadly pre-orders are sold out on Pulse :(
I was wondering that too, along with the rebel army builder pack. I fear they will be treated differently than the pulsecon exclusives as I don't think they are really event exclusive. They're just a general pulse exclusive. Maybe they'll do another run of stormtroopers? They'd be dumb not to.

I think you are right, I doubt they will be sold anywhere but Pulse. They are "cheaper" army builder packs similar to the troop builders they've been doing for Marvel Legends recently (AIM Soldier, Hydra Soldier, Hand Ninja, Hellfire Guard, Skrull, etc). None of those were available elsewhere, but they they do end up producing more runs eventually. It takes awhile and they tend to sell out pretty quickly again - I don't understand why they don't produce more, I guess Hasbro doesn't like money? Anyways, I ordered 2 of the Rebel sets from Pulse, didn't really need more Stormtroopers.

Wow, that sucks. I ordered one on Oct. 12 after reading your older posts about it. It shipped the next day and arrived on Oct. 15 by Canada Post. The figures are individually boxed in Hasbro shippers, which is what it arrived in. Mint condition. I ordered it with 2 other items, and they all arrived in the same box.

That's a surprisingly helpful response from TRU customer service! I would have expected a canned answer and them pointing you to some other unrelated product.

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Re: The Bad Batch

That's too bad. My whole family (my wife and I, and the 4 still living at home, ages 10, 13, 15, and 18) have been watching the Bad Batch together. It is a pretty good show - I would rank it on par with The Clone Wars. Some episodes have not been as good, but the story is really coming together now. I think this last episode is the second last one of the season.

The Bad Batch is the only thing we're watching on D+ as a family. We also watched the Marvel shows when they were on, and of course The Mandalorian. We're saving the last 2 episodes of the season to watch together once both parts are released. The it'll be the 'What If?' Marvel show every week I guess. Can't wait until more live-action Star Wars shows though! Kenobi should be interesting.

Same, got my shipping notice for Leia, now just waiting for AT-ST Driver to ship...

My 2 Leia's arrived today. Same tiny box as usual. Luckily this time they were placed in a way that the cardbacks only got curled a bit, no creases or bent corners. A little flattening needed, and they are otherwise mint for once.

Received a shipping soon notice for my backordered at-st driver and endor Leia. I was wondering if I'd ever see these. Hopefully they do indeed ship and not crammed into a too small box or an envelope.

Looks like it's just the Leia that's being shipped at this time. I got the same email this morning, and just now a follow up saying items have shipped, but it's only the Leia listed now. AT-ST Driver will probably take another month yet lol. Anyways, looking forward to getting some more mangled cardbacks.

I remember 5 years ago a local store employee complaining about it and saying it's supposed to be replaced. Guess that never happened. Or what they replaced it with was even worse, which happens too (hello, Walmart?)

As for it being part of the retro or Vintage Collection. I'd say no. There is no reference to either series on the packaging. The packaging doesn't fit in with the retro horrid fake weathering. And it is way glossier than the regular vintage collection. To me this and the previous Vader are stand alone one off items. Definitely cool but not a hole in the collection if you don't have one. Of course now that I have the Fett I wish I had the Vader.  :speechless-smiley-004:

Agreed on this. It's hard enough getting hold of all the exclusives that ARE part of those lines, I don't need to make it harder by including the rainbow figures. They are one-off oddities, something that would be a Con exclusive during normal times. It sucked that Hasbro included the Mouse Droid and Salacious Crumb figures as numbered entries in the VC lineup, glad they did not give these an official connection.

If anyone ends up with any extras of the 6" Clone Wars figures, I and a couple friends would be interested. We were on'y able to get pre-orders in for some of them, and they've never shown up in store locally.

Wampa Cave / Re: Rebelscum has been given Order 66
« on: June 29, 2021, 10:20:11 PM »
Rebelscum used to be my go-to site for news, and especially for their totally awesome figure database. I also used the forum there, but mainly to buy/sell figures. That was back in 2009-2013ish, when I was first building up my collection, during the Golden Age of Modern Figures and TVC Part 1. As Darth Cujo mentioned, the regular forum conversations progressed too fast for me - I prefer Snowtroopers for that, especially as the Canadian membership is more relevant to me.

Then around when TVC died, Rebelscum seemed to go through a change. The news page switched to mostly ad/promo-type articles, posts about ebay auctions, etc. Very little news/rumors like they used to do. That's also when they stopped keeping the photo archive up-to-date and as well detailed as before. And finally, it's when there was a lull in new product being released that I was actually interested, along with my collection backlog being pretty much cleaned up - so I didn't need to used the buy/sell forum anymore either.

After that I switched to Jedi Temple Archives for several years. The photo archive is almost as good as the old part of Rebelscum's, and at least it gets updated very frequently. They do also mix in more news and rumor posts, although there's still a lot of promo posts too. The Disqus comments are not a good substitute for a forum though, so it's for that reason that I still come back here - the community. Plus, Paul's increasing snarkiness in recent years and the vocal group of anti-Disney fanboys has made reading the comments there a chore at best. One interesting parallel to Rebelscum is that Chuck, the site owner of JTA, is also pretty low-profile, though he does at least put up a few posts and will comment from time to time.

These days, I probably split my time between here and, which I good general site since I also collect Marvel Legends, McFarlane DC, and the odd Transformer. The forum is just the right level of busy to keep up with, and it's Canadian so the sightings and news are relevant to me. I'm also on a Facebook group of local toy hunter friends that we started to try and help each other beat out the scalpers.

I believe the card gets charged at the time you preorder. He is very good about refunding any automatic shipping charges that get added, especially if you include in the notes that you want to combine your items with another shipment later to save money.

Correct on all of this. He's very responsive and easy to deal with.

I also got a shipment from TSM yesterday, 2 orders that I made about 6 months ago all packed up together in one nice box. As Darth Woo noted, not their fault Hasbro distribution takes so long to get stock out. Glad to have everything now, in mint condition. This is why you buy from a store that cares and not WM or Amazon whose employees seem to have competitions to see how badly they can mash your TVC cardbacks.

So remember how these Paploo's all showed up at our doors without any shipping notice or anything? Well today I got a shipping notice from WM that my order of 2 Paploo is on the way, due to arrive tomorrow. So what the heck is going on? Did they ship them all out before to everyone with processing the orders? Did we even get charged? Or are we being charged twice for double the number? Maybe now I'll at least get one without a bent up cardback. But I'll likely be returning the extras they ship. Strange. And still no sign of Leia or AT-ST Driver.

Edit: Package arrived today. One Paploo was completely crushed in the bottom of the same too-small box as before. The other was curled but no creases this time. So out of the 4 they sent me, at least I got 1 mint. I'll keep the crushed one to open. Now to check my cc bill to see if they charged for the double shipment. Either way, the extras can go back.
