LEGO has just announced the new direct to customer LEGO Star Wars set. The Ewok Village will cost $299.99 and have 16 mini figures and 1990 pieces. The new set looks amazing and is almost directly similar to the Kenner play set from 1983. Check it out at:

Lego / LEGO.COM May the 4th and Revenge of the 5th 2012
« on: April 29, 2012, 03:44:17 PM »
LEGO is having another promotion this year to celebrate May the 4th. They are giving away an exclusive TC 14 Minifigure with silver/chrome treatment with purchases of $75.00 of more on LEGO Star Wars products.
Not too sure what they have in store for the Revenge of the 5th promo as it does not state on the flyer that they included in my last LEGO order but it did have a really nice pic of the new LEGO Jabba and Salacious Crumb Figures :) on it.

Off Topic / Vintage Figures VS Modern Figures
« on: March 04, 2012, 12:31:48 PM »
I was just admiring my collection of Star Wars Figures and playsets, both modern and vintage and I was thinking of the many vintage items that I prefer over the modern versions. For example, I still think that the vintage Yoda is the definitive version of all time. Hasbro just has not been able to capture his true essence like Kenner did back in the day. I also think that the Jabba Playset from the 80's is still amazing although I do like the updated version very much I just wonder how well it will last over time with his rubbery body. I am especially fond of the vintage Sy Snootles compared with the somewhat ridiculous rendition from the Special Edition. Seems that a lot of of the vintage figures still hold up today in appearance and accuracy especially those from ROTJ. Does anyone else seem to think some of their vintage figures are better than the modern versions? Another thing that still puzzles me, and I really don't buy the argument that kids don't like playsets fodder that Hasbro dishes out, why is there a lack of playsets on the market. I love the Ewok village it is still so cool and would certainly enjoy an updated version, even one of the Cantina, Death Star, Bespin, Dagobah etc.

No duty or brokerage you pay the CDN tax when you place your order. It comes via Canada Post. It is a great way to save money when the codes work.

We will have to see what LEGO unveils at the NY Toy Fair in February. I am looking forward to seeing a better image of the new Jabba's Palace set. I wish LEGO would make a Rancor to go with it though. However, from what I seen and read Jabba is fully painted and jointed at the torso and includes new printed Gammorean Guard, Salacious Crumb and Oola. :P
