Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Clone Wars Season 7!!
« on: February 22, 2020, 05:20:28 PM »
Clone Wars is back!  Loved the 1st episode even though it wasn't that new since the unfinished version was released several years ago.

It was nice to get that old "Star Wars" feeling again.

So many "custom" makers out there now that sell figures.  I know some people that only buy the unlicensed stuff now.

I'm going to buy the cheapest bluray version I can find at WalMart on the day of release, as per usual. And I'll be mad at myself for buying even that.  :mad0218:

Lol, same.

I don't think I've even watched the last 4 after I bought them, just used the digital code so I could watch them on ferries and flights.

Surprised no one is talking about it.  I did finish it and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I'm gonna be working on getting all the trophies over the next two weeks.  I have 2 of the 5 planets at 100% so far.

The story was pretty good, there are some pretty unforgiving boss fights if you like a challenge, and the ending was nice.  It wasn't as much of a Metroidvania as they said it would be but if you are a trophy/achievement person like me there's about 50 hours of gameplay.

MILD SPOILER HERE - I do hope the game sells really well though, because there is room for a sequel.

I agree with Wedge. Critics are garbage - don’t listen to anything they say. Heck, most Star Wars fans are garbage now and couldn’t give a decent review of a Star Wars movie if they tried because they are so clouded with bitterness that they wouldn’t know a good Star Wats movie if it blasted them in the face.

Agree with you.  It was the same thing during the prequel era, all the "true" star wars fans were complaining and all the critical reviews were mixed, even scoring worse than the reviews for the sequels.

First, let me say that not all critics are garbage. Unfortunately, a number of them are now in the pockets of the studios like Disney (because their livelihoods are very dependent on getting early access to these films and thus, if they bad mouth a major film they will definitely be blacklisted for future outings).  So critics aren't entirely trustworthy any more because they are suffering from major conflict of interest. On the flip side, they also have to maintain their own brand and reputation, so if they truly feel a movie is bad and recognize that if they shower a clearly bad movie with praise, they will be called out for it by their followers.  It's very much a "caught between a rock and a hard place" situation where they can't be totally truthful to anyone.

It's all just noise.  I don't care about what critics may or may not think, don't care about any internet rumor and I certainly don't care that everyone on the internet thinks they know everything that goes on - leaks etc.  It's just noise and I try to stay above the noise.  I'm only here to be entertained, and at the end of the day I am or I'm not and I move on.  The movies still bring me joy, and I'm still happy with how they get fleshed out in the comics, and books, and shows, and video games.  I'm not going to get sucked down that hole where all I do is complain about things.  I'd rather spend my time doing something I enjoy.

Lets hurry up and get the spoiler embargo removed so we can dive into it.

1st thing, I loved it.  2nd thing, I just want to mention one scene without spoiling it.  But after thinking about it I think I'll wait before I mention it, I will say it was the only scene that made me tear up.  It was about replaying something over in your mind and making a different decision.

I watched every movie this week going into this.  The Last Jedi is still my least favorite.  But I was surprised that I felt that The Force Awakens had gotten better.  If I had to make a knee jerk reaction right now I would place this one above the other 2 sequals, and above TPM & AOTC.  Will definitely go see it at least 2 more times but I already know it has enough in there that I will enjoy watching it multiple times.

Looking forward to going to it tonight.  My girls are 12 & 13 and this is probably the last time I can force them to come to one.  I've been spoiler free so far and had to quit reading napseekers posts in this thread.  Just here to celebrate what I love.

Her contract is up in 2021.

When I preordered it this week they told me it was the main character Cal Kestis.  I know they were BSing but it probably will be true.  I'd like to see the new bad guy be the figure.

I loved that old Battlefront Scout Trooper.

Loved Stranger Things.  Haven't started season 3 yet though.  Outside of the Marvel series, I can't really think of a Netflix show that I've liked more.  Maybe The Haunting of Hill House, or Mindhunter.

Finally found the new black series Yoda.  Picked it up at TRU and they had most of the new Retro figures too.  Only had 3 of them though.

Wow, amazon prime is fast. got here in less that 2 days.  Put a vintage B-Wing Pilot in one and it fits very nice.  Put the new Han Stormtrooper (vintage) in the next one, fits not problem.  It's just a star case with a different name on the back.

Now for higher end figures, what are people using?  I've bought from GW Acrylic and I really like them.  I've got a AFA case but I don't like how sharp the inside edges are when you slide you're figure in.  The GW cases have that flange rounded off so it doesn't potentially scratch the card.

Thanks guys.  I went ahead and got the pvc ones for $60.  And at the same time fell for signing up for amazon prime.  They should be here in a couple of days and I'll let you know how they are.
