I will try to help you as much as I can.

1- We have more parcels than christmas time;
2- We are short staffed because a lot of employees need to stay home for different reasons (stay with kids, those with health problems);
3- Facilities are the same size as before this pandemic, we dont have more docks to unload the stuff;
4- Since the major warehouses (Amazon, Best Buy and so on) are located in Mississauga, the Gateway sorting plant in Toronto have many vans that await to be unloaded (sorry, I don't know how man), here in Montréal I heard that we had 350 vans waiting to be unloaded, with an average of 2000 parcels per van.

I'm just a postman, so I can only talk about the reality of my office that I see each day:
Some routes have like 150 parcels everyday, Most of our routes are evaluated at around 35 parcels/day. Our little Ford Transit can't hold much more parcels than that. Everyday we leave with what we have, it's ''clean floor'' when we leave. In christmas time, they offer overtime to deliver parcels after our shifts and on week-ends, at my office, management don't offer overtime to deliver parcels after our shifts or in the week-ends. A lot of us postman, again at my office, offered ourselves to do overtime, but it is refused. No more delivery guarantee so no need to rush to deliver.

Management don't care, so they don't feel the need to rush the delivery of these parcels and who the people blame for the delays, we the employee. It's a tactic that they excell in. Yes, we have a union, but believe me when I say that we the don't have the power to stop or delay the parcels, only management has. Don't believe me? You still are receiving flyers in your mailbox? We asked to stop them because it forced us to go every door and it was denied.

If your parcel don't move for a coupe of days, weeks for others, it means that it is still inside a van, and I fear that vans are not unloaded in a first come first served basis.

I also think that parcels from outside the country are not the corps priority, I haven't seen many parcels from the USA quite as often as I have to before this pandemic started.

I hope it helps and we hope, as you do, that management change his mind about the overtime (it helps me buy my toys too)....

A good friend of mine is a Canada Post carrier such as yourself and told me almost verbatim the same story.

Everyone wants things delivered now, there are less postal workers working and the facilities are the same size.

Patience!

I don't even use Canada Post when I mail packages to the US anymore.  I can ship like 3 or 4 packages using USPS for the price of shipping one package from Canadapost across Canada.  Stuff I ship to the US are usually delivered before Canadapost even 'accepts' the package in the sorting facility.  Even my Ebay auctions, I charge way more for shipping within Canada than to the US even though I live in Canada.  That's just how sad things are.

If I was not able to ship via USPS, I wouldn't be able to sell anything on Ebay cause the costs for shipping would be too cost prohibitive.

Yes, Chit chats is good ;)

Henry McCoy is an X-Man, not an Avenger. Change my mind.  :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

The movies and their splits on characters between Fox and Marvel Studios really did a number on that argument, didn't it?

Wampa Cave / Re: New Black Series Packaging

I do like the splash of colour on the new boxes, as I found the black boxes very dour. What I think hasbro thought of as classy I found boring.

It will be nice to make new slipcovers. The old design was terrible and tiresome - everything red except some exclusives.  I will have to step up my game on the side, obviously

Wampa Cave / New Black Series Packaging
« on: May 28, 2020, 11:37:56 PM »
If you haven't seen it, the Black Series packaging will be changing for wave 25 and the Rebels wave (Btw - you can preorder at amazon and redshift7 already)

So, basically, they went all Marvel Legends for the packaging.  Is it better?  Sure - especially from the side where you can get a nice pic of the figure.  This is a HUGE deal for placing items on the shelf, where you can get a lot more shelf space when they are on the side like that.  In a place like EB Games where shelf space is at a premium showing that picture is a much better draw than the awful side of the red line.

But the front is boring as hell.  It's boxy, and makes poor use of the small band of color.  It would have helped a LOT if the inside had the same band of color, but they've made it white(ish).  It's the BLACK series and they made the inside WHITE.   :sign0065:

In addition, they will regret the decision to make the sides of the boxes match up with others to form a flowing artwork... it will be exhausting keeping that up.

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Re: The Mandalorian

I'll be glad to see her too, but I don't see any way that it can end well - we know Gideon has her Darksaber :(

Maybe she should get it back...

My daughter and I are CRAZY excited for a season that has Ahsoka, Sabine, and Bo-Katan.

I have ZERO confidence Hasbro is up to the job of making sure they are ready with figs (except they are rereleasing Ahsoka and Sabine, it doesn't seem Mandalorian related)

Online Shopping - Who's Got the Hot Items??? / Re: EBGames UPDATE
« on: May 08, 2020, 04:22:58 PM »
I just pre-ordered some of the SW vintage carded four and six inch figures from Amazon.ca.  90% chance the cards will arrive damaged.   Maybe I should cancel and give redshift7 a chance?

Never ever have I been disappointed with Jay @ redshift7 . If it's only a couple bucks extra, it's worth not worrying

That is very cool!  Love it!

It was poorly worded and the intent was poorly explained. They could have put a much more positive PR spin on it and no one would have made a fuss about it.

Bingo. All they had to do was say: "Hey, if you would like to give us legal permission to use your tweet for our future Star Wars campaign, just reply to our tweet and use the hashtag #Maythe4th. Thanks everyone!"  instead, it came off as threatening and corporate.

Rather than being beholden to the fans that they've managed to anger or turn to indifference, trying to win them back, they're still acting like overlords that haven't managed to screw up the most valuable geek franchise in the world through a series of incompetent, bumbling, agenda-driven, missteps.  I suspect that things may get better once a certain KK has been booted to the outer reaches of the galaxy, and likely Jon Favreau takes over.  But until then...

Favreau is not taking over KKs job.   But if Favreau and Filoni can keep all the creative control, we'll keep getting the Mandalorian.  This sounds ok to me.

I've heard good things about redshift7.ca.....does anyone know if your credit card is charged right away when you preorder from them?

Charges right away.  I had a chat with Jay (who runs the site) about that, and also having a loot feature.

You can leave him a message on his Facebook page - let him know you'd like to charge on shipment as opposed to on order.

That being said, I've never had a problem - he's very understanding and reasonable. I've ordered a lot - been happy every time

Scout Report / Re: Walmart.ca news

I was so excited to find a single BS Yavin Luke on the pegs....it was the only one I wanted as it has the corrected spelling of Skywalker on the box...Yay!

I never even knew they had corrected it.  I just never looked, but one Walmart by me has about 10 of this figure.

The latest wave has another Yavin Luke to pegwarm and yes, it has corrections to the 3 misspellings of Skywalker on the box
