For fun I checked the tracking number again

Apparently they are on their way!  Should be here early next week.

So I'm still working on these - I'll have to post a lot more pics to catch up on the main page, but with all the new 6" stuff coming out, there are two big problems

1) There are SO FEW promo shots out right now for this stuff - and some of it is just bad.  Nothing good for even Supreme Leader Kylo Ren yet that's useable so I have to wait.  Which SUCKS

2) This:
Second Sister Inquisitor First Edition
Second Sister Inquisitor Carbonized
Second Sister Inquisitor

FYI - I think the Carbonized editions are ok, but nothing special - I would want to cover them.  The First Edition white boxes (which I have) look terrible and I can't wait to get them all covered

Anyway - still puttering along.  If you have any questions or want some covers, see the first post.  I have basically everything that's not an odd SDCC package ready with the exception of about 2/3 of the TFF stuff.

The Skiff Guard 3 pack is back in stock on their website.

I haven't received a cancellation e-mail yet, and the status of my order says 'Processing' when I log in to check.

(the 2 other items in the same order have already shipped, and was charged for those 2 items + the shipping  even though it should have been free - like most others have reported)

Holding out hope they will ship my two Skiff guard packs at the $17.99 price and credit me the shipping...the Skiff guard packs were in stock when I ordered :)

So this story gets crazier and crazier.

Yesterday I got an email cancelling

This morning I got an email saying they shipped...

With a tracking number...

...That doesn't work

And the order still says "processing".

I mean, if I get them, great!  If not, it's not like they are hard to get.

I like what TRU is doing with the interactive stuff. I think I read somewhere that they will be eventually introducing a concession area. I think this is a fantastic idea. Kids will flock to something like that. What kid won't beg their parents for a slice of pizza or a slushie.
I know they are trying to drive people to their stores but I find their website very lacking. For people like me that are a 4 hour drive away a good website is something I am looking for.

In addition to a much better website, they need a lot less stock people and better product managers at the office. Which is a weird thing to say.

Every time I go into a TRU there are more employees than people shopping.

I just received my cancellation email for my Skiff Guard order 15 mins ago. "Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel your order".

There should be a code to honor the price along with it.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on Toys'R'US Canada and whether you think they are doing a great job of connecting with their customer base and building love for their brand.  Here is what happened today at my local Toys'R'US .

Major excitement this morning at my TRU store. Got there at 9:30 am and there was a very big line up outside of it. Much Larger than TRIPLE FORCE Friday.  Of course that could only mean one thing word had gotten out that TRU was getting the Jabba The Hutt Palace and it was on yesterday's truck.   So I quickly joined the line , you could feel the excite of the crowd.  The doors open - I quickly make my way in and tons of staff and corporate TRU executives and security guards all over.  Man they are ready for some massive fighting and jabs over Jabba Palace.   I round the corner to see the new Star Wars home - nothing they have shrunk the overall Star Wars section.  No ones is headed for the Star Wars section but me.  What in the world is going Harry Potter on sale?  Barbie? what were all the people at the store for.............they were all lined in the middle of store.....there is a stage at the back of the store....oh my goodness they are going to have a JEDI Academy at TRU - my mind blows up at how amazing this is going to be.   I race to the line pushing several small children out of the way.   I secure my spot..........guess who is coming to my TRU in person and will be performing ............ THE WIGGLES !!!!!!!!

Have to say I am very impressed with the new vision that TRU has for themselves.  I think they are trying to make their stores a destination of fun not just a big box Toy Store.  Bravo Toys'R'US .  And I still think the Jedi Academy would be a great idea.

This is the way many retail centres are fighting the online apocalypse.  Staples is becoming a business learning centre.  Smaller retailers that are doing well are those that provide a community space - to bring it a little closer for collectables, most small comic bookshops run Magic: The Gathering tournaments as well as D&D Sessions.

Personally, I think the Jedi Academy idea you mention would have potential...depends on execution, of course.

Along the same line of thinking, I always thought the Skylanders/Disney Infinity/Lego Dimensions idea was a really great way of selling toys too.  My kids had many Disney Infinity figures.  The execution on that was poor though - content probably was a problem and didn't warrant continuation.  There is something there though, just needs tweaking.

Ugh. I love the idea of a Dagobah 3-pack but they didn't even bother to fix those ugly arms on Dagobah Luke:

Yeah, that set is just about as ugly as you get.  I'll be skipping that!

The Shadow trooper does look nice.

And couldn't agree more on the exclusives. This iskilling the hobby. When half of the interesting stuff is out of reach, it's not fun anymore. To me, it's like we're back to 1998 when we couldn't access interesting items like the Tauntauns, Wampas, last few waves of the POTF2 era. It was not fun. Not at all... :(

That was extremely frustrating.  I remember it well - which is precisely why I can't believe they keep giving exclusives to Kaia.  I mean, it's awful to think about, but everyone here is aware that that the people who frequent this forum don't compose a large portion of the Canadian Star Wars collectors, right?   Kaia would be totally unknown outside Quebec (and even then) were it not for them being given these exclusives.

I also find it difficult to believe that other retailers (online or not) are being tendered these exclusives.  In fact I find it impossible - there are lots of etailers who have much better capacity.   It just stinks highly of backdoor dealing.

In the end I'm happy we don't have to eBay another exclusive to get it, but having run an online store that sold Hasbro product many moons ago, seeing Kaia get an exclusive would absolutely send me fuming were I still to be in that business.

Waitaminute.. TVC Skiff Lando showed up at EB Games?  That's the first I've heard of that.

Posted it in the EBGames thread a couple of hours ago.  My EB had 8 of them.  Which is funny because not 2 weeks ago I bought them from Kaia with a terrible "Kaia Exclusive" sticker on the bubble and paid with shipping $10 more than I could have if I'd known they were coming to EB

Guys, just to let you know of a huge news.

TVC Luke Skywalker (Yavin) is coming to Canada!  :D

But not to Walmart. Not to Toys'R'US. Not to EBGames.

I was allowed to inform you that the this figure will be offered exclusively for the Canadian market by KAIA BOUTIQUE.

The Quebec hobby shop has managed to secure all these figures after Walmart Canada decided not to take the exclusive.

Pre-orders for this figure will start this coming Monday, October 7th at 3pm EST.

The figure will be released officially on November 1st.

Be ready, quantities will be limited. This will be the only way to get this figure in Canada. You don't want to miss it.

Will it be exclusive like Lando skiff guard was exclusive, only to show up cheaper at EB Games like 2 weeks later?

Why is a rinky-dink operation like Kaia getting exclusives?  Is it because they are next door to Hasbro Canada in Quebec?  Is Hasbro Canada offering it up to other online retailers?

I did. However, it still says processing. I'm kinda thinking they will change the price before charging. Not sure if they can do that. Kinda expecting the 2nd one I ordered for shipping will get cancelled.

Almost thinking the stores are now holding it back till TRU fixes it on the website so we cant price match.

I just checked my CC and its no longer a pending payment - they are gonna change it.

Not sure if anyone else saw on Sunday this show televised on ABC Spark.   Neil Patrick Harris hosted a behind-the-scenes look at the new lands at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and at Disneyland Resort in Southern California. Celebrity guests include Kaley Cuoco, Keegan-Michael Key, Jay Leno, Sarah Hyland and Miles Brown.

The show was 2 hours long and was basically a 2 hour advertisement to come to Disney Parks to see the new Star Wars area.   As of now the area is just one ride where you pretend you are flying the MF and you and 5 other crew members hit buttons that fly, shoot etc. in order to achieve your mission.   George Lucas referred to it as Star Tours on steroids. The rest of the area is there to sell you a light saber, a droid, blue and green milk and other Star Wars space food, drink and collectables.  This December in Florida and this January in California there will be a grand opening of another ride in the area.  They played up the interaction with characters that are walking the street a lot.   In other words bring your imagination and use the setting they have built and the characters whether it be Chewie or the people selling you stuff and pretend you are really in a space port in the Star Wars Galaxy.

I look forward some day to seeing it and experiencing it - but after watching the 2 hour commercial I did not have a feeling of wow I gotta go. In fact I more felt like I would wait a couple years until they have a few more attractions.

Not sure if anyone has been there yet to share their experience or anyone else watched the special and had a different reaction to the show.

A friend of mine is one of those Disney Vacation specialists.  There is another attraction opening in the park shortly (January) called Rise of the Resistance.

So in a short while there will be double the attractions there. ;)  She suggested not bothering with going there until that time.
