Star Wars cereal
« on: May 06, 2015, 01:39:08 PM »

There is going to be a new Star Wars cereal by General Mills! This time it will be permanent rather than just for a limited time. The bad news is, it won't be available here in Canada. I asked General Mills about it today on Twitter and they said it's only going to be in USA. Too bad. I remember we got C-3PO's here, and I seem to remember seeing the Episode II cereal here as well. Here's the link to read all about it: http://www.blog.generalmills.com/2015/05/ready-to-bring-the-force-to-your-breakfast-table/

I still have the box with the clone trooper helmet right inside - I'm sure the cereal has long since gone bad.  :rollfloorlaffsmiley:

I would bet that it has not. Unless by bad you mean it would taste more like cardboard than it normally would!

A couple months ago I was out and about and got into my car and the radio came on and it was the C-3PO cereal commercial. I thought I'd stepped into a time warp, I had timed it perfectly as the ad started right when I turned the car on! Turns out it was talk radio and they were talking about something (can't remember what exactly) and they had played the commercial in full. I had to laugh, what were the odds of that happening just as I got into my car?!

I had C-3PO cereal back in the day, I remember it vividly. It was okay, nothing special but the novelty was fun. :)

I also remember the clone helmets and people scrambling to get them.

I also remember the Froot Loops with Han in stormtrooper disguise mailaway. We never got that here, but my Aunt got me some and I was able to mail away for him. I still have a Froot Loop box intact (without the cereal).

Oh and the special edition 3D cards on the backs of cereal boxes... and the shadows of the empire cards on the back of cereal... and the rubics cubes... cereal premiums are fun. :)

I ate that C3PO cereal... thought it was absolutely delicious (mmmmmm, sugary goodness). Was quite disappointed when it no longer appeared on my supermarket's shelf.  I blame high licensing fees by Lucasfilm for making the product unprofitable to sell and killing it  :winking0071:

I'd try them but Yoda says there is no try.  :)

Every true Star Wars fan is a Luke Skywalker, looking at his twisted, evil father, and somehow seeing good.

Trust me.

I remember the little inserts packed in the Corn Flakes boxes.  It actually got me to like the cereal.

I remember the episode II cereal. It came with 2 boxes and a clone trooper helmet. The cereal was pretty much a Lucky Charms with stars.
