Vintage Collection Rogue One IMPERIAL COMBAT ASSAULT TANK
« on: July 11, 2018, 05:51:16 PM »

Vintage Collection is finally back baby!!!! This is what I'm talking about.
It's a thing of beauty!  Box is solid, no flimsy cardboard, there is some weight to it too.
Found it at my local Toys R Us store for $119.99.  Currently in Ontario, there is only 2 per store and not all stores have them yet. Go get 'em!

This makes the $109.00 price at Northmen Collectibles look pretty good right now.

Wouldn’t you also have to pay shipping costs, though?

Well, not if you live in the same city...haha.  However, just remember how often TRU has sales.  Once they have a sale, their price will be cheaper.

Just buy and hold receipt for price adjusting when there's a sale.

TRU usually has a 20-25% off sale so that tank would be $96+tax for a 20% off sale.  Or $90 if it's a 25% off sale. I would wait until closer to XMas, which is when TRU usually gives their best discounts.

I'm gonna buy at least one at full price.

I seriously hope there will be some neat reveals at SDCC to crank people up.

You get free shipping if you spend $50 at TRU, or Walmart. I think for Amazon, it's even cheaper.. $35 if I remember correctly.

I have some info regarding the amount of stock sitting in the distribution centre.  Currently, there is only 184 pieces sitting there. If you think about it...that's not a lot. Will there be more later?.....Hmmmmmmmm.

When you figure there are only 70 stores in Canada, that represents one case of two for each store.  The balance would cover on line sales or possible store repeat orders.

Considering there were only about 300 exclusive Island Journey Rey 3.75" for the Canadian market, 184 units (2 per box = 92 boxes) for the Rogue One Tank makes sense.

Guys, don't think you'll be seeing plenty of these toys in the future. The reality of toys at retail has changed drastically. Most retailers don't want to carry too much stuff, so they decline products. Walmart did for the Rey figure. It will happen again. I wouldn't bet seeing these on clearance. Good luck for those who think they,ll end up paying half price on this. We,re not talking about the mess that is the Black Series 6" line here, with TRU filled with pegs of pegwarmers...

Yeah, I don't expect clearance price on this.  If I see it, I'll get it and hold the receipt and hope for a 20-25% off sale.

However, given how expensive it is, I may not even be that sad if I don't get it either.

There won't be clearance on this piece. TRU will get one box of 2 tanks and that'll probably be it. Sold within 1-2 days. Even at full price.

Guys, we all wanted TVC to get back on the shelves and pegs. What do you want? You're really waiting to get this item on clearance to kill the line once again? I really don't get it. This piece is a marvel of details and paint job. It's a brand new sculpt and from a new movie. I really don't know what more could be asked. To get it for free? Of course I would prefer not to pay for it. But Hasbro is a toy company, not an non-profits organization. I've been waiting for TVC to get back, I've waited years for that kind of product. I much prefer paying 110$ for something that I WANT rather than paying 50$ for something that I DON'T WANT...

If you guys expect any kinda clearance sales to happen for TVC products, then you're in for a disappointment. We're not in 2010 anymore. Retail sotres have learned their mistake, at least in Canada. Already, there's no more Island Journey Rey available for Canada (all went to Kaia Boutique and their subsequent e-tailers). There won't be anymore. Sold out. Hasbro Canada has nada. It's gonna be the reality of the TVC line from now on: stock gets on the pegs, then leaves the pegs for good. You won't be seeing a lot of this product line long on the pegs, apart from the occasional repacks...
