Love the image, but I've been Mandalorian-ed out since AOTC. Hopefully John Favreau is given some creative space here to make this awesome.

Looks nice. But like @jjreason I'm quite fed up of the Mandalorian lore. Can't understand the hole hype about Boba Fett and Mandalorian in general. Okay, as a child, Boba Fett was cool with all his gadgets, but honestly, he's quite a boring character nowadays. Enfys Nest is IMO a much more interesting and elaborate character (and way more badass) than Boba Fett ever was and ever will be.

For me, Star Wars has evolved way past gadgets and chromed suits. For the adult fan in me, I'm looking more and more into psychologically complex characters rather than mere suits of armor. But seeing how displeased fans were about Phasma being thrown away in a garbage chute (and then into the fire pit), it seems most fans are still asking for gadgets and looks. Just looking at how the Clone Wars, then Rebels, exploited the Mandalorian hype in a rather opportunistic way, it's fairly obvious that John Favreau TV series about yet again another Mandalorian will get the attention they need from the fans. And that's probably the only reason why they chose to go that route rather than any other. Again, opportunistic choice. And for me, a little annoying...

I have a feeling the series won't be deep diving into Mandalorian history. My guess is that it will be mostly location specific meaning there won't be a ton of sets.

I agree. I think it will be more about the adventures of the individual mandalorian. Choosing a Mandalorian is just good marketing. And whether you're a child or adult boba fett still has damn cool Armour.  In the original movies he didn't have depth of character but that doesn't mean he wasnt badass and didn't have a cool mystery factor about him. Using a Mandalorian plays on that but I think it will likely stand on its own. At least I hope so. Just the ideal of following a character around the star wars universe from episode to episode is enough to intrigue me. It's only a single image but it's pretty awesome.

The most interesting thing they could do, riffing off the posts above, would be to leave as much about this NEW hero a mystery as possible, revealing only small snippets here & there. It was worked tremendously for lots of characters I love - let's use Wolverine of the X-Men as an example - any snippet you learned was like gold to start (but it did eventually get out of hand).

i guess. even if they do leave it more mysterious its already been done. the real boba fett! so its just more of the same and thats never as exciting. if they do go the opposite direction its not going to do much for me either. the good stuff was already done years ago! :)
