Nice, thanks skywalker1973, I will can an eye out for a deal on those games!

I received the shipment from Meeplemart today, looking forward to digging in to the games with the fam. Tonight we tried out Squarrels, as it was a pretty quick and brainless card game that was quite easy for the kids to catch on to. They both loved it - probably more so than my wife and I, which is just fine.

I don't see a topic to merge this with, someone send me a link if you like. :)

I can create an area for games, within which you guys could discuss any manner of different ones that people like to play. Let me know if that would be useful or if this topic will suffice.....

It's the thread linked in the top post... It started as a specific post about one thing, and grew into a broader discussion about board games. I thought maybe some of the later posts in it were relevant to this topic (since I started it based on that). More for anyone reading through in the future.

Personally, I think just this thread is fine, rather than a special area.

Merged. Seems like they've removed the option for me to leave a "bread crumb" locked thread in place of the old one - I'm sure folks will find this one easily enough.

I recently played Smallworld with my 6 and 8 year olds. My 8 year old picked it up fast and my 6 year old did ok. The game lasted a bit too long for my 6 year old but overall it went well.

My kids also like to play Zombies. Reading the cards is a bit difficult for them but we manage.

I always ignored it thinking it was part of that miniatures game that is a complete money pit with all the expensive little ships and add ons.

I keep looking at Star Wars: Armada lately. Not even so much as a game to play (I really have no one to play something like that with). But more just to have all the cool miniatures. They've just put up a pre-order for their Super Star Destroyer (which looks awesome), though it looks like the game has really lost steam in the last year or so with fewer expansions releasing. The consensus on some forums seems to be that the game is pretty much dead, while others say it's just taking a bit of a backseat to the new version of X-Wing and the release of Legion. If it is on it's way out, it might be a good time to pick up some second-hand collections for good prices.

Super Star Destroyer is awesome. I'm tempted by X-wing 2.0 just for collecting the ships, but Destiny is so expensive that I don't know if I'll ever start buying X-wing. And at 200$ US for the Executor, I couldn't back the Barge, won't buy that mini
