Yakface recently reported about this coming price increase for all toys, not just Hasbro toys, to happen in the near future. It's pretty tough to stomach given that the last price increase (which technically happened at the start of August) is just barely being digested when an even bigger increase is coming...

Tonight I was musing to myself when this would happen. It's really tough seeing a formerly $18 TVC figure now going for $20. Then I happened onto Amazon.ca and saw that uhhhh, the new-new price increase seems to already be coming into play?

My selections have already gotten pretty few & far between... another buck or two isn't going to stop me from getting my 3 or 4 new figures per year. I'm honestly ok with it, as it will force me to be that much more choosey (I bit the bullet & got NO mando figures because of price so I've already been practicing my restraint).

ToysRus just increased the prices on old stock as well. Basic Mission Fleet went from $12.99 to $13.99, while gaming greats are now $21.99 each. The Bespin Luke wave was now $19.99 when I went to my local store. The only thing that didn't go up so far were the Mando Retro figures. Still $17.99 each. I was lucky enough to find one of those on sale at Walmart for $9 two weeks ago. Now the pegs are empty. Meanwhile the 6" Gaming Greats at EB Games are now listed at $37.99 for the Nightbrother wave.

The Retro Mandalorian figures haven't gone up because they were already over priced to begin with.
Been to a few comic book stores where retro figures were only $14.99 over here and in america they are only $9.99usd
So, they were already making $3 extra dollars off each figure.

Good for you jj, you're stronger than me. I have bought Mando stuff, but at this point I'm basically done with Mando. I will get Boba but that's it. These price increases really do make it easier to drop stuff.

As for those retro 17.99 prices, yes that is hasbro canada gouging run amuck. It's bad enough they often price things at a 50% exchange rate, but 80% was just insane. Sadly for the walmart ESB wave we had no choice. Still waiting for Hasbro to allow online stores to sell that wave like they did the SW wave.

The combination of price increases and hasbro's inability to manage distribution, (or worse, their lack of effort to even try to manage supply), makes quitting more tantalizing than ever before.

I agree they are overpriced. The OT waves were almost the same as the US, but Mando had to be more.

I realize this is an older post, buuuuuut;
Due to these rapidly rising prices I've sadly decided to stop collecting both Star Wars and Transformers. The only 2 things I'll break this decision over are ships. Both will be pricey but I think I'll cave on a vintage series Mando's N1 fighter and a Black Series X-Wing (Red 5 preferred).Maybe Vintage Rey in X-Wing pilot gear. Also,I can't log into Facebook anymore unless I upload ID (Can't find a way around that!) so can't post on Snowtroopers there. Good hunting to all of you who've helped me collect for last few years!
As I won't be checking TRU, Walmart, Gamestop or Hasbro Pulse anymore can I ask someone to shoot me an Email if you hear about one of these being announced? Thanks again for being people I can relate to!!!

Woke up this morning and took a quick look at the prices of Star Wars figures on TRU's website and "big shock":

TVC figures now up in price again, to $27+tax and the already overpriced "deluxe" TVC Boba Fett is now $43+tax.

The TVC Nevarro Cantina which was $80 is now $85.

The prototype Chewie is now $23+tax.

I can't tell if the 6-inch Black Series prices have risen or not, since I no longer buy 6-inch figures from ToysRUs anyway.

Regular BS figues are now $44.99 so they did go up. Glad I got Sgt Kreel and the VC Boba Fett a few weeks back when they were still over priced at $39.99.
