Wampa Cave / Re: What happened to this forum/site?

I have to agree with the sentiment that this forum is generally more positive than other sites. I am not a frequent poster and have mostly lurked since signing up here years ago, but I do frequent other sites like Rebelscum or various action figure subreddits. If you go on Rebelscum or these subreddits, you will always see a flood of negative comments on each post. I seldom see that here.

I did not grow up in the 70s/80s so I got into Star Wars in the mid-90s when the special editions came out. I was a kid when the PT came out and I loved them. To this day I still enjoy them; they're Star Wars! I have entire shelves dedicated to Episodes 1,2, and 3!

My collecting began with the PotF2 line, which I have to say are garbage compared to what we are getting these days. I would rather a properly proportioned  5 POA figure to the buff monstrosities we got in the 90s.

I loved TFA, I even rank it as my 2nd favourite SW film (second to ESB of course). Sure it repeated things, could have done some things better, but it was still Star Wars! NEW STAR WARS! I was so hyped for the movie, I was right there in the line-up at TRU for Force Friday, getting the new figures. Since the film has come out my hype has not died down, I still want the TFA figures. I must add Tasu Leech to my collection!

I look forward to further expanding my collection both with older figures and new ones.

Snowtrooper Collections / Updated Loose Collection Shots

After seeing Thirdfloor's photos of their collection, I was inspired to post an update of my collection here. It's been almost 3 years since I moved to my house and set things up... and well the collection has blown up from there. New shelves have been installed to accomodate it but I am running out of room... think I need a new house.

Take a look at the collection here:

Wow! I am speechless, amazing displays! My collection is ever growing and I hope to see be able to reproduce some of these scenes (especially the Emperor's arrival on the Death Star).

Amazing!

Wow! That looks amazing! Any chance you could upload some higher quality photos to something like imgur for us to browse through? The small photos you uploaded are such a tease!

Hit up 4 more walmarts on my way home.  Most had some figures (both sizes). The one at Eglinton and Markham had 3 6" Kylos. Thats not the size I collect so theyre still there.

Each one had a peg or two for 2-packs but all were empty. I suspect this shipment is late.

I was also holding a small amount of hope that we would see the latest Black Series and Saga Legends series. Still need Mosep and the Jedi Temple Guard.

Was at the Vic Park and Lawrence location last night, about 30th in line. One small display of 3.75" figures.  I was lucky enough to grab what I came for, but yea, by 12:04 it was empty. You'd think they'd maybe have more boxes of figures ready for this event?

Swung by the WalMart at Eglinton and Vic Park this morning and same story as the rest, no 2-packs. I'm starting to wonder if any of these arrived in Canada...

I'll be at the Don Mills TRU as it is just up the road. I'm going out more for the atmosphere and spectacle of it all.

I am actually flying from Toronto to Vancouver this weekend for the Grey Cup.  I looked up the Riverport Cineplex, is it really showing at a cinema out in the middle of nowhere?  Any advice for someone who will be staying downtown?

I don't understand this choice, in Toronto it will be at Yonge & Dundas, the heart of downtown...

(I noted that StarWars.com spelled Yonge wrong, as Younge, sigh)

Scout Report / Re: TBS 3.75" Wave 4 at Marshalls/Winners - 7.99
« on: August 05, 2014, 07:16:23 PM »
Thanks for the tip!  Went by 2 Marshall's and 2 Winners in my area on my way home.  At first I found only figures from waves 1-3, picked up Mace Windu and Merumeru.  Then I found Bastilla Shan, Yoda, and Snowtrooper!  All of the black series figures were on the pegs near the cash.  Also there were Mission series figures (R2+C-3PO, Obi-Wan+Darth Maul, Han+Chewie), but priced at 7.99, it's not that great a savings.

I checked the toy sections at each location and never found any 3-3/4" figures but did see 1 or 2 6" figures (all Han, Greedo, Leia).

Happy Hunting!

Wampa Cave / Re: RIP EU
« on: April 26, 2014, 08:36:59 AM »
At first I was saddened by this news, but upon further reflection I am becoming OK with it.  It's not like the existing EU material will disappear... Disney knows a cash cow when it sees it, so they'll keep allowing the stuff to be reprinted as "Legends".  Who knows, maybe under the "Legends" brand, we may get an EU specific action figure line in the future!

It will suck to not see Mara, Jaina, and Jacen in the movies, but you need to have hope that they do good with Ep VII.  And besides, I already have 3 Mara figures... maybe it's time for some new stock.

As a final note, they did mention that they may still take inspiration from the EU, as they are already in Rebels.  We may even still see some of our beloved EU characters, just in modified roles or back stories.  For those familiar with the Harvest Moon video game series, this could be like Harvest Moon 64 to Harvest Moon Back to Nature, where the same characters were used but back stories and lifestyles were changed.

It looks like this:

http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=http://www.rebelscum.com/2013/High-Resolution-Hasbro-Black-Series-Yoda-Luke-Skywalker-Jedi-Training-02.jpg

But worse, since that's a cleaned up version.  Make note of the double jointed elbows...

I am rather disappointed at this figure.  I strangely do not have a Dagobah Luke in my collection so was really looking forward to this.  Now I'm not sure, those joints just look terrible!

On a side note, can anyone make a recommendation for the best Dagobah Luke previously released?

Thanks for the heads up!  Just finished finding the Wave 2 figures I wanted... thought I would get a break from the hunt for a bit.
