Wampa Cave / Geek Gift Registry
« on: January 22, 2021, 05:08:53 PM »
Hey guys check out this brand new website a buddy of mine has just launched.  Its called Geek Gift Registry.   Its a great tool for us collectors.  As you know it is nearly impossible for our friends and loved ones to buy us a collector gift as they have no idea what we want or already have.  Here you can set up a registry of your wish list and forward to all your friends.  They can then just click the link and order the perfect gift for you!! Great idea!

They will be adding Canadian e-tailers including the big guys like Amazon and Walmart soon.

Wampa Cave / Hasbro New 5 inch Figures
« on: July 20, 2019, 12:36:45 AM »
I am sure many of you have seen the new 5 inch Hasbro line which appears will be replacing the 5 POA figure line.  I am honestly probably going to skip this line.  Is it just me or do these not resemble the Disney Infinity figures in both size and appearance?

Wampa Cave / Gentle Giant Jumbo Kenner Original 12
« on: July 28, 2016, 11:48:23 AM »
Hi Guys,

I am looking to collect all of the Original 12 Figures in the Gentle Giant Jumbo Format.  I am in need of Sand People, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Ben Kenobi.   I am opening them so loose figures are fine.   Send me a message if you have or know of any of these available, the cheaper the better.

I think I may have found the first TFA toys on the planet!!!

EDITED: Tossed a spoiler warning into the title as the pics of new figs & vehicles are stacking up. - jj

Off Topic / Rebelscum Darth McAdam
« on: February 28, 2013, 01:50:37 PM »
A few weeks back there was a discussion about Rebelscum inappropriately posting pics that were taken by Snowtrooper General Brashin. The proper credit wasn't given to General Brashin.  This discussion was a good forum as it pointed out some/many of the issues people have with Rebelscum.

Through it all I was concerned that as Darth McAdam was defending Rebelscum (a website for which he is a regular contributor),there maybe the assumption by some Snowtroopers that he might have been the one to actually send or post the pics on RS.

The reason why I am starting this topic is to assure all of you that Darth McAdam did not post or send these pics in to RS himself.  I know Adam quite well and in fact met with him a few weeks back; he was also concerned that other troopers might have thought he was involved.  He showed me the print out of the actual email that was sent into Rebelscum.  I am not here to "out" the person who sent the email to RS, but more to clear Adams name.  I can 100% assure you based on the email that I saw, that Adam had nothing to do with submitting General Brashin's pics to Rebelscum.

Adam is a stand up guy, who I have met on may occasions and a trusted friend.

Non-Star Wars Toys / Hobbit Figures Bridge Direct
« on: December 11, 2012, 01:07:11 PM »
I was wondering if anyone had picked up any of the new Hobbit figures? I am not particularly interested in the 6" figures, as I still have boxes of carded LOTR figures in storage.   I picked up so far Bilbo/Gollum 2 pack,  Grinnah, and Gandalph, from the 3 3/4" line.  I opened all 4, I must say I am quite impressed.  The detail and paint I find is second to none, the likenesses are impressive.  The articulation is good,  not quite as super articulated as we are accustomed to, but more than adequate for various poses.  These figures stand very easily.

As you can tell I am very impressed with these figures, and find myself wanting to go and purchase them all.    I told myself after the Indiana Jones line of 2009, that I would stick to strictly Star Wars,  but I am thinking I might be breaking that rule.   Any thoughts on these figures?

Scout Report / Movie Heroes Series II
« on: February 12, 2012, 06:45:13 PM »
I was suprised to find these series II figures at my local London Drugs.  I wasn't aware they were even out.    I passed on all the series 1 figures, as they are all repacks.  There are actually 3 new figures in the second series,  Anakin, Jar Jar, and Padme.  I picked up Anakin and Jar Jar,  they looked decent.  I left Padme on the shelf, as she looks like a figure from  1995, garbage!!!

Wampa Cave / Starspeeder 1000 Disney Exclusive
« on: February 10, 2012, 01:20:27 PM »
At the end of December I was able to pick one of these up on ebay for basically $100 including shipping to Canada.  I was pretty happy with the deal considering how big the box is.  If you now look they are going for over $130 plus an extra for $30 shipping.  So in hindsight I am very happy with the deal I got.     I just wanted to mention this is a phenomenal toy/collectible.  It is so much fun for the kids and a very good likeness of the actual ride. It looks fantastic loaded with figures and all my other disney exclusive figures.  All the sounds and electronics are awesome!! I just thought I would throw it out there that if you are sitting on the fence about this one, don't.  Grab yourself one of these.   You may want to wait for the price to come down a bit.  I promise you wont be dissappointed in this one.

Off Topic / LegoClub Robot Contest
« on: October 04, 2011, 11:09:24 AM »
I was wondering if any of you guys could help.  In the last issue of Lego Club Magazine there was a build a robot contest for kids.  Both my boys were very excited and built their robots.  Now I cant find what they have done with the magazine.  I believe the contest expires October 22, so I am running out of time.  Do any of you have the last Lego Club Magazine?  My 6 year old thinks it had boats on the cover?  I Just need all the contest details,  I think it was open to Canadians.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Star Wars Movies & TV shows / Clone Wars Evil Plans, Help!!!
« on: November 15, 2010, 01:49:31 PM »
I had PVR'd the last few episodes of Clone Wars.  I was excited to show my son the Evil Plans Episode, as I thought as a 5 year old he would enjoy all the droid shenanigans.  He was quite upset to find out that I deleted it accidentally. Where is the best site to download this online?
